In this episode, I am sharing some thoughts about unexpressed emotions and how we end up carrying what we are trying to avoid dealing with. Sigmund Freud said, “Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways.” We become closed — not only to people's pain — but also to their happiness.
In today’s episode, we discuss:
1) The emotions always come before the thoughts. We feel everything before we can think the thought and comprehend what we are feeling. 2) The effects of suppressed emotions include anxiety, depression, and other stress-related illnesses. This suppression can lead to alcohol and substance abuse. We actually disconnect from ourselves and have a hard time knowing what it is that we actually want. It blocks our intuition with ourselves.
3) The tools of NLP, subconscious reprogramming tools, RRT (Rapid Release Therapy) to continue to release the emotions that are not serving or supporting you.
