This week I’m sharing a personal story about my first trip to Burning Man. It starts when I was about 5 years old. And spoiler alert it ends with a big personal transformation. Cliche, I know. I teach a storytelling workshop and help others tell their own stories. The next workshop will be on July 27th from 5-7pm. The theme is editing. We will work on editing your own story so it’s polished and ready to go by the end of the workshop. Visit my website, hivemind.coach to learn more. She liked Burning Man, therefore I did NOT.” “I was choosing a false identity of other than in order to feel good about myself.” “This isn't just a gathering of people. This isn't just a party for seven days, this is a cultural movement where I'm going to learn something.” “The man's arms went up and I started crying. I thought to myself, I'm no longer creating an identity where I'm other than, but instead I am creating an identity where I'm including others.” “The following year, I went back with both my sisters and my mom, and we got to do the burn together. We watched the fire together and the man's arms go up and it was a really special moment for our family.”
