In this episode, we are talking about an exercise that we do in our CIRCLE Community every year at this time of year. The best part is, each month of the year, our CIRCLE members check-in and become each other accountability partners.

Here are 5 ways to choose a word of the year.

1. Reflect on the past year in your outdoor classroom and your outdoor teaching practice. To start, find a notebook or journal.
2. Think about your values, intentions, and goals for 2024 for your outdoor classroom, outdoor teaching practice, and nature-based curricula. Note the differences between values, intentions, and goals.
3. Brainstorm a variety of words and try them on for size. This is where the CIRCLE community comes in.
4. Make a vision board and share.
5. CIRCLE members start the new year living their word(s), mantras in their outdoor classrooms. It’s been amazing witnessing the growth in our community.
