Cheater’s guilt and shame are common feelings after infidelity, but are often misunderstood by social media and the movies. In this episode, my intention is to explore why the feelings of guilt and shame arise after someone cheats on their husband/wife/partner and my approach to processing the hard feelings so that you can focus on self-forgiveness and compassion. The first listener question is from someone who still feels unbearable guilt even though their partner forgave them for a drunken one night stand. The second listener question is from someone struggling with self-compassion and forgiveness after cheating on their partner. By the end of the episode, I hope you have a new view on infidelity.
