Emotions are not always a reliable indicator of what we really believe or value. Emotions can make us forget what we really want, cause us to act out, and even hurt our loved ones. In order to overcome this, we have to become psychologically FLEXIBLE. Psychological flexibility is defined as being in contact with the present moment, fully aware of emotions, sensations, and thoughts, welcoming them, including the undesired ones, and moving in a pattern of behavior in the service of chosen values.
