Today, I'm sharing with you the top 4 mistakes you make when starting a fitness nutrition program.
#1 - Wait for the most opportune time to start
I'm going to let you in on a little secret...
There is no opportune time to start a fitness nutrition routine!
You start having kids, aging, your metabolism slows and life gets busier.
It never slows down...
So just get started.
And every little tiny tweak that you do today will help you to make progress tomorrow.
#2 - Overcomplicate the hell out of it!
A lot of people make it super complicated.
If it's been a while since you trained or you're just a beginner DO NOT start with a crazy restrictive diet!
Keto...
Paleo...
Intermittent Fasting...
they are all just that...
crazy fads diets and are going to pass.
And the main reason is once it gets overwhelming and stressful, you're going to quit.
I promise you that the average person we see start a fad diet lasts 2-3 weeks. And within those weeks, they feel it was an absolute lifetime.
So keep it simple.
If you do, you'' get long-lasting, consistent results that will easily fit into your lifestyle despite changes.
#3 - Do not focus on weight!
Instead, focus on body fat.
Why?
A pound is a pound, no matter if it's muscle or fat.
The difference is the more muscle you have, the smaller you look.
And the real end game for everyone is to look smaller...
So, stop focusing on weight and instead concentrate on decreasing your body fat!
And to make it easy, I'll give you a goal.
Focus on decreasing your body fat by 1% weekly or 4% monthly is easily manageable through diet and fitness.
And lastly, #3 - Going too hard, too fast.
A lot of times people go from sedentary to 6 / 7 days a week right away.
And then follow it up with a massive amount of cardio.
Working out that hard is not necessary!
Like with your nutrition, keep it simple.
Simply start with 3 times weekly!
If you try to go too hard, too fast, you're going to give up or worse get injured!
You want to make it consistent for the long haul.
So to recap:
#1 - Get started
#2 - Don't overcomplicate it
#3 - Don't focus on weight
