In this episode of the Time for Teachership Podcast, I am talking with Dr. Kelly Cerialo, an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator in the Business and Hospitality Department at Paul Smith’s College. The model that Dr. Cerialo’s school focuses on is innovative experiential learning. Place-based learning is what inspires the current study abroad program at the college. Because the students are in the middle to lower income brackets, the intention with the study abroad program was to make it accessible to everyone. This is unique because it gives students an option to travel who wouldn’t have that chance in a traditional school. Follow along with Dr. Cerialo and I to hear about the sustainable approach, justice-based considerations for study abroad programming, and various impacts this program has made.
