But CNBC senior correspondent Sharon Epperson survived and is here on our show to share her journey through that experience and how key financial preparations helped her and her family avert a financial catastrophe.

I first interviewed Sharon back in 2015. She is a well-known financial expert who can be seen regularly on CNBC and other media platforms.
