Be The Exception In Special Education

92.5 Easy to Use Strategies to Define and Implement Co-Regulation

Listen Later

Co-Regulation is such a hot topic and for good reason. By definition it is when we, as the adults, model behaviors and techniques that help our students maintain control. So this might be a deep breathing exercise or using empathetic language.  Co-Regulation is something that we work on throughout the year, but I have found that my students need some extra help after long breaks like the one we just finished.

In this week’s episode I am sharing 5 strategies for modeling Co-Regulation in your classroom. These are tips that I have used and seen success with. Even some of my toughest students have benefited from Co-Regulation used on a regular basis.

In this episode you will learn:

  • The benefits of Co-Regulation.
  • How to adapt strategies you are already using into ways that can be easily modeled.
  • How to implement easy strategies that work in your classroom.
  • About learning even more about Co-Regulation.
