Madelyn Blight is a shining example of how you can build an incredible career as a buyer's agent by embracing your values, following your heart and strengthening your mind.

Maddie left school in Year 10, because she wanted to follow her own path, as she explains to Buyer’s Agent Institute founder Ben Handler. When she was 19, she bought her first property – a one-bedroom apartment in Brisbane – and when she was 20 she founded a solar business. The business grew rapidly, turning over $1.5 million in its first year, but Maddie realised solar wasn't her passion and that she needed to change careers.

Before becoming a buyer's agency, Maddie decided to work out what her core values were.

"My values were impact, they were freedom, they were family, and then I decided, let's create a life around those values. Let's create a business around that, so that's at the forefront of everything that I do," she says.

In 2020, Maddie co-founded Upscaled Property, which helps owner-occupiers and investors in both the residential and commercial sectors.

Despite her busy schedule, Maddie makes time every day to exercise, meditate and work on her mind. "I'm a big believer in our business is a direct reflection of how much self-development we've done," she says.
