A Kind and Gentle Word

The weight of sin can be crushing. However, when you give your life to Christ the giant boulder of everything we have ever or will ever do wrong dissolves into thin air.

Now, listen closely, stop whatever you’re doing and really listen close: you cannot, will not, ever, for any reason, lose your salvation. Once you are a child of God that’s it,
It.
Is.
Finished.
You are His forever and always.

Welcome to a Kind and Gentle Word, a Christian podcast that doubles as a weekly devotional. Remember to be kind to others and gentle with yourself, for we are all works in progress.

I didn't know how to start having quiet time with God. I’m not a morning person so I have a hard time with the idea of climbing out of bed before I have to and start reading a random page in the Bible.

It wasn't until I found, a daily devotional, Jesus Calling by Sarah Young that I began to find a way to spend time with God every night, reading His Word.

I need to know that there's light at the end of the tunnel. More than that I want to know how far do I have to walk before I reach the Light?

Psalm 119: 105
“Your word is a lamp unto my feet.”

If God’s word is a lamp unto our feet then it’s up to us to pick up the flashlight and turn it on. To  do that today, we are going to feel immerse ourselves in Psalm 27 in its entirety. Wherever you are, allow the scripture to saturate your entire being.

1 John 1:7 “Walk in the Light as He is the Light.”

Psalm 27

When we are weak, tired, weary, completely tapped out, that is when we are most dependent on God. When we are leaning on God to hold us up, that is when His power becomes our strength. Our weaknesses become our strength because we turn the the ONE who all strength and power flows.

Today we have a special guest: My dad! My dad, Greg Lewis, is a missionary. For him, this means he travels to the ends of the world telling people about Jesus, some of them have never even heard the name before. He goes to places that most people would rather not go or they think of the country or the people to be too dangerous.

He has his own ministry called Go and Tell, he’s funded by churches and individuals with a 501c3, that means it’s a non profit.

Hi, I'm Jourdan, host of A Kind and Gentle Word Podcast. This is simply a podcast where I share the message God places on my heart for that day. I hope more than anything else it's a reminder to be kind and gentle to ourselves, for we are all works in progress.

Today, our episode discusses these Scriptures:
1 Samuel 3: 1-9
Galatians 2:20
Jeremiah 23:29-32
