A Kind and Gentle Word

Let's find the cure for anxiety and depression by meditating on Matthew 6 from the sermon on the mount. We worry about our basic human needs, what we wil wear, eat, drink, and how we can live. God knows we need these things but He commands us to:
"Seek first His Kingdom and His Righteousness and all these things will be added to you. Do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will have enough trouble of its own."

Psalm of Asaph, psalm 77, an outcry to God if grief, anger, turmoil. God wants to hear from your heart even as the storm in your heart rages like the waves the open sea. Cry aloud to God, pour out your heart to Him and then allow God's Word to calm the storm in your heart with a meditation of psalm 77.
I was greatly impacted by the reading of the Psalm of Asaph on the Chosen at the end of season 3. For several nights I have read Psalm 77 right before I go to sleep. The storm within has calmed to gentle waves.

Allow the reading of this psalm with ocean sounds and thunder to stir up the emotions in your soul and cry out to God. My hope is the you find peace and rest in the Selah.

Pray for our Enemies? Love Our enemies? How... How?
Last week, I was literally feeling persecuted against for my beliefs. It happens a lot to me, I’m very bold about my faith and my relationship with Christ. I don’t get preachy but I definitely don’t shy away from the subject.

I was carrying a cute little chip on my shoulder like a badge of honor. Hah, I’m being persecuted against, Jesus said this would happen:

Matthew 5: 11-12
“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
I was literally walking around full of pride over this encounter.
And then, God served up a giant steaming humble pie into my lap with a verse that follows later on in that same chapter:
"Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.”

Our hearts desire and our walk with Christ is such a complex and often confusing subject. We often desire for things of this world and sometimes God agrees that these desires match His plan or our life, but not always, and not always in the way we believe.

"Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."

"I have set you apart."
The show Chosen has literally changed my life and blossomed my walk with Christ the way I know it has many others. The scene with Jesus and Little James impacted me very deeply in a way most might not expect.

How to Focus Your Mind on God Everyday. That's really difficult! Every time I try to focus on God and quiet my mind, my thoughts drift away.

When you take a moment to quiet your mind and look to Him, don’t be upset when you drift, instead use Him as an anchor to pull you back to steady, clear waters. Rejoice in the moment and thank Him for wanting you closer no matter how the waves try to lure you out into the deep.

Hebrews 4:15-16

For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let’s approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need.

Today, let's block out the noise of the world and find a way to quiet our hearts. "I'm Listening," let's speak these words from our hearts to God.
Today let's find a moment of quiet to take a full minute to listen to the voice of God.
Apparently this is also the title of a popular song by Chris McClarney, I hadn't heard it until tonight but I love the thought behind the lyrics!

Today I was feeling the weight of anxiety and a tightness in my physical body from stress. I decided to stretch out all my tight muscles and meditate on Psalm 91, a chapter of psalms often referred to as a prayer of protection or the warrior's prayer.
My English Cream Golden Retriever decided to help me stretch; his joy and love brought peace and healing to my heart.

How many Side hustles does it take to reach $10,000? Hmmm.... Well, I made it to 7 before I realized I was going about life in all the wrongs ways. What is the truth about side hustles and why is no one talking about it?

Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but The Lord's Purpose will prevail.

You can try all the side hustles and passive income strategies you can find online, but if you are not on the path God has in mind for your life, it's not gonna work. What is God's purpose for your life? What has God called you to do?

Do All things All Things Work Together for Good to Those Who Love God? This is a very difficult verse to understand but in our pain and suffering we can find peace and joy in Jesus Christ.

This past week my little dog, Minnie, crossed the rainbow bridge. It was unexpected and very quick. She was my child and the pain is very real and deep for me. I will always miss her but I know I will see her again in Heaven.
Yes, I do believe all dogs go to heaven. (All animals, actually.)
