When it comes to writing a novel, my goal is to honor the story.  I never consider what is “popular” or if shorter or longer chapters are “in” or if I’m going to alienate anyone because of what I am writing – instead it is all about story.  By honoring the story I am respecting the reader or listener who is trusting me with time they will never get back.  It is my responsibility as an author to constantly hone my craft to deliver the best story I possibly can.  From the initial spark of an idea to the final manuscript, my heart and soul goes into every word.  Even as the deadline looms, I continue to scrutinize every chapter and scene, making refinements right up until the very last moment, to ensure nothing was left on the field.  If you already listened to Chapter 1 when I released it in December, you may notice some slight differences in this latest version.  I am constantly striving to enhance the narrative, deepen connections to characters, and sharpen the plot —even if only by a degree.  Enjoy the listen!
