Notorious underground figure Tony Mokbel says he's keen on an overseas holiday after walking out of court a free man today.

Mokbel spent nearly 20 years behind bars in Victoria for drug traficking offences, before being released under strict bail conditions last year.

He was the inspiration for the TV series 'Underbelly,' and was also at the centre of the Lawyer X scandal, when his barrister acted as a police informant against him.

Prosectures have dropped a retrial of old charges they were pursuing against Mokbel, meaning he can now go free.
