This Sunday, Devon continues our series on the Book of Acts. In Acts 6 & 7, he walks us through the story of Stephen—highlighting his faith, his role in the early church, and the opposition he faced that led to his martyrdom. Stephen’s vision of Jesus standing at the right hand of God is a powerful affirmation of Christ’s presence and advocacy for believers. The contrast between Stephen’s faithfulness and Saul’s initial persecution of Christians illustrates the power of God’s redemption. As believers, we need to trust God’s sovereignty, endure the trials that come with faith, and embrace the cost of discipleship, knowing that God is working even in suffering to bring about His greater purpose.
