  • Ep 184: How to AVOID OVERWHELM by just doing small actions over and over again- Motivation Series Part 4
You have a BIG thing you want. But sometimes it's hard to even allow yourself to dream BIG because you get overwhelmed and don't know how to start.   Or maybe you have a lifetime of failure proving you can't achieve big things. So you slink back and do nothing at all and try to convince yourself this is okay.   I got you. I want you to be able to have that BIG thing AND I want to help you get there in a way that actually feels good.   Break. It. Down. Into. Small. Actions. Start with being the person who shows up and does the small thing.   It's going to be imperfect when you start. It's okay. And then you'll polish and refine later on. • Ep 183: How to MAINTAIN MOTIVATION - Motivation Series Part 3

Could it be that part of the reason you're not doing the thing is because you tried to do too much all at once?

I did this too when it came to Whole30 and running marathons and the 100 day running streak! I took on too much at once, couldn't keep it up, and went way back to 0.

Wanna maintain motivation? Wanna be the person who actually can keep doing the thing? Just do something a lil outside of your comfort. Know the steps you have to do. Get your reps in, and then do something a lil outside of your comfort, repeat, repeat, repeat.

I share my best tips today!

  • Ep 179: How to BREAK A BAD HABIT by creating a solid ASPIRATIONAL IDENTITY and a related GOOD HABIT
If you don't have a strong aspirational identity, you will keep falling into doing the things your old identity does.   If you keep identifying as a stress eater, you are basically giving yourself permission to eat when stressed.   "Oh man, I am so stressed. Well, I am a stress eater so I will go eat. Oh look, I am a stress eater."   Soooo let's pick your aspirational identity and your related habit...   Adapted from Atomic Habits     Send me an email: [email protected] New website and new workbook coming soon!

  • Ep 178: How to USE A FITNESS TRACKER/WATCH in 2021
Lots of people own fitness trackers and don’t use them. They’re fun! I have one! But the novelty does wear off...   If you really want to change your life, figure out your pain, pleasure, and aspirational identity and then do a habit that supports that identity. A habit you can actually do every day.   Example:   "I am tired of feeling lethargic and discouraged with myself.   I'd like to feel energized and pleased with myself.   I want to be a consistently active person.   A consistently active person goes on walks every day.   I will go on a walk every day- even though I live in Chicago and it's super gross outside, I will bundle up and go for a 5 minute walk. Wow. I will do again tomorrow. Ok today is warmer- I can do 30 minutes. Wow. I did it. Again. And again. Wow, I guess I really AM a consistently active person. Ok great! Keep it going! Now this is just who I am and I don't even need to track this anymore...."     The fitness tracker is just some fun data.   Owning one won't make you an active person.   Lots of inactive people own fitness trackers and don't do anything. (Been there!)   Lots of active people do not own fitness trackers but still do active things. (Been there too!)   ----->You showing up and consistently doing the thing and BEING the person is what transforms your life and who you’re being.   Lemme know below what you're going to do now or send me an email at [email protected]
