----Formal English----
The Wild Coast is part of the South African province of Eastern Cape which spans from East London to the edge of KwaZulu-Natal.
Many illustrious South Africans were born in the Wild Coast, including Thabo Mbeki and Nelson Mandela.
The Wild Coast is where a multitudinous number of rivers have their junctions and spill out into the sea.
The southern part of the area is characterized by smaller hillocks and more mature rivers which have wider floodplains.
However, the northern part is more rugged and features younger rivers which snake their way through high scarps and end up spilling over rocky ledges in cascading waterfalls, like Waterfall Bluff.
The Wild Coast also holds several wide open beaches and smaller arenaceous bays at the mouths of some of the bigger rivers like the Mbashe and the Kei.
Some of the smaller rivers that empty into the Wild Coast have a lot less siltation compared to the bigger ones.
In addition to the many river mouths, there are also copious amounts of headlands, estuaries, and bays, although most of the shores along the Wild Coast are predominant.
Approximately half of the region is forested and contains many different novel species that hadn't been discovered anywhere else before, especially in Mkambati and Umtamvuna.
Scientists have discovered that approximately 900 grass and forest species from the region have some kind of value, whether homeopathic, traditional, or commercial.
Although tourism has been identified as a key economic activity for the Wild Coast because of its tranquility and pleasing aesthetics, not much has been done in building the industry up there because of government and environmental problems.
