College buddies! Some great memories of fun times, right? Well, today we are talking with Jerry Lanser and he not only keeps in contact with some of his best college buddies but does great hiking trips with them too! Retirement isn't only about reminiscing about the "good old days" but can also be about reestablishing relationships and building new memories. Good job, Jerry! Hike on!

Today we meet friends Cherie Pinkerton and Lori Foulds from Manitoba, Canada! These two travel buddies met through work and found out that they share a passion in exploring new places! Curt and I met them on our bike and sail trip through Croatia and felt they would be the perfect pair to talk to about the amazing trip we all experienced! (We even talk about the one scary time that I almost bit the dust right in front of Cherie going up a very steep mountain pass as a tour bus passes us!) It is such a thrill when you meet new friends with common travel and retirement goals!

Do you consider yourself a "foodie"?  Curt and I definitely love a good meal, but if it doesn't involve meat and potatoes or peanut butter and jelly...Curt tends turn up his nose.  I, on the other hand, love to try new foods and love almost any type of cuisine.  In today's episode we meet Martin.  Martin and his wife love trying new foods and especially love experiencing the  restaurants near his home in London.  Let's learn about his wonderful retirement visiting and tasting his way thorough Mayfair's Michelin's and other famous restaurants!

Let's start the year with a great adventure!  Could you live on cruise ship most of the year? Sounds like an amazing retirement!  Today we talk to Ric Irick, world traveler on a transatlantic cruise! (first time for us connecting to a guest on cruise ship for an interview)!  Ric recently retired from his career in Washington D.C. and loves to travel! What better way to accomplish this than by back to back cruises.  He tells us all his cruise secrets and hacks as he experiences a retirement journey many would love to copy! Meet Dawn Whitley!  We had such a great conversation with her about her "passion" in retirement, her daylilies! Dawn has embraced daylily gardening with a zest just as she did her career as an engineer at the Campbells Soup Company.  If you are like me, (Cindy), gardening is a favorite hobby in retirement and it isn't always easy.  There is so much to learn to be successful and produce beautiful flower beds.  I hope you enjoy learning about her passion as much as I did.

Africa is a dream vacation for many of us!  Curt and I are already scoping out African safari vacations in anticipation for a once in a lifetime trip in our near future.  Africa is a wild wonderland for vacation thrill seekers such as our guest today Ellen Gleitman Luchette and her husband.  Their adventure was full amazing  events and sites.  You'll want to listen clear to the end to hear their adventure coming home! Thanks for the inspiration Ellen! I can hardly wait to see the elephants and the African Serengeti!

Happy Birthday to us!!!  Yes, it happens every year!  We celebrated our birthdays just three days apart with another great adventure!  This time New York City!  This new tradition (it is  now a tradition if we have done it twice, right?)  is a fun time for us both!  We believe every year should be celebrated in retirement as so many of our friends and family didn't get this experience.  Our retirement motto of "don't sit too soon"  is what motivates us! Have you visited NYC?  This episode is all about THE BIG APPLE and all the fun times we had there.  Happy Birthday Curt!  PS ... I'm still the boss because I'm three days older!
