Tell us about your Adventure!
If you love the great 70s and 80s old rock and roll like us, Tom Petty's Free Falling ranks right up there as one of the best songs ever! When I think of this song my mind always goes back to the weeks right after the birth of our first daughter 31 years ago when my husband told me he was going to jump out of a plane! Tandem sky diving was just getting popular and Curt was going to try it! 31 years later and Tandem sky diving is a popular extreme sport that many of tried. Our guest this episode did just that! Ron Santalucia loved his adventure and he tells us all about this great experience. I'm pretty sure its in my future!

Everyone told us how wonderful becoming a grandparent was...and we were waiting patiently! Our perfect Sunny Faye arrived right on schedule this January to her thankful parents and entire family. There is nothing that compares to this new stage of our retirement and we are so thankful to be able to join the grandparents group. This podcast is not about our beautiful ray of sunshine...but about grandparenting in retirement. So many of our retired friends are grandparents and many others are wonderful grandparent stand ins! We salute you all. It definitely takes a village!

Today we talk to Dr. Vanessa Boyce and listen as she guides us in a discussion about a heavy topic that many retirees don't think about early on in their retired life. We all know that every day is a blessing and to have great health in retirement is the goal. However, as we age we are faced with a slew of new situations and problems. Those of us with elderly parents and sick spouses have new roles as caregivers. Dr. Vanessa helps make sense of this time in our lives.

At AdventuRetired we stress to those asking about what to do to get ready for retirement is to find your best you and keep working on improvement! You will never be younger than you are the day you retire, so don't sit too soon! These words definitely reflect our guest this episode. Virginia (Ginny) Richter and I have a history! She was my boss in South Texas and I had the great privilege of teaching her son when he was in first grade (now a successful attorney)! It was so much fun talking to her about her retirement adventure and we know you will enjoy it also (and may be inspired to do your own).
Tell us about your Adventure!
The Wild Frontier...Alaska... is the topic of this retirement adventure! Many of us have added Alaska to our bucket list of places to visit in retirement. Today we talk to Dave and Donna Jauron and learn how Alaska has become their second home. These two Iowans have been in love with Alaska for over 30 years! They travel and live there every summer ! What draws them back year after year? One big pull is the fishing! We know that you will enjoy listening to their Alaska story! I think I need a little more Alaska in my life!

When Marie Sennett retired from her career as a busy civil rights lawyer she decided it was time to take hold of her own mental and physical needs. She knew that in order to be her "best" retired self she needed to have a plan for a healthy body and mind. Now, she helps other retirees do the same as a certified yoga teacher and transitional life coach working 1:1 to help her clients get ready to live their dream retirement. We were so happy to talk with Marie and learn about her retirement adventure! She definitely inspired us too!

The beautiful Galapagos Islands are the topic of this episode. We go there with Scott and Ann from Kingsville, Texas, as they travel to the exotic islands and see first hand the giant turtles named for it. These retired travelers love to see new places and know how to do a quick plan B to make their travel experience successful. They were so fun to meet and interview!

Beautiful, exotic Thailand! The land of Siamese cats and Siamese crocodiles. Where orchids and tropical fruits grow wild and home to the world's most visited city, Bangkok! This beautiful country is where you will find our next guest, Doug Mann, and he is loving every minute of his retirement journey! Have you explored the far East? It just might be where your next adventure takes you!

Many of us have the bucket list item of standing on all seven continents. Many other retirees are content just to stay in the United States or visit a few new countries abroad. Very few get the experience of not only seeing Antarctic, but walking and sleeping there. Today, we meet our guest, Eric Matto, from Canada who set his goal to experience it all on our seventh continent. This is on my bucket list and I hope you enjoy this interview as much as I did!

Curt and I agree on many things such as dinner plans, vacation destinations, and child rearing techniques. This might be why we are such a good fit as a couple! This episode, Get Your S#!t Together, is one of those decisions. We both believe it is probably one of the most important episodes of our AdventuRetired anthology because we are discussing the legal papers ALL of us should have in place for our loved ones after we are gone and before!
At AdventuRetired we tell you to "don't sit too soon" "gray and away" "live your retired life" and many other inspirational quotes, but this episode is more than a quote. This episode talks to us and tells us that we need to get our S#!t together earlier than later in this wonderful life of retirement. We are all mortal and our family members deserve our preplanning in the times ahead.
