Welcome to AdventuRetired! Today our guest, Elizabeth Golden from Colorado, is a superstar!  Why? After 8 spine surgeries this hiker accomplished a list item from her bucket that many can only dream about! She hiked the Camino de Santiago! Elizabeth's retirement adventure just proves to all of us that we can reach for the stars and accomplish a major goal!  Elizabeth tells us that her inspiration for the Camino de Santiago was " the ability to walk when there had been many weeks where she couldn't walk a all."  Good job Elizabeth!  Good job!

In this episode we talk to retired nurse, Candy Bisenius, about her beautiful raised gardens. After our conversation, all I could think about is "come on spring, get here already!"  Candy and her husband, Rick, have the most amazing raised bed gardens I have ever seen and  they have embraced this hobby to it's fullest. The raised bed way of gardening not only saves the back, but it also limits the weeding for these active retirees!  And the cherry (tomato) on the top is  the most amazing, delicious garden produce just waiting for you to enjoy!

Today we visit with Dr. David Nixon.  Dave fulfilled his late wife's wish to take three granddaughters to beautiful Ireland to see their family roots.  Listen to Dave talk about his amazing family and the trip that will forever be cherished.

Today we have the privilege of talking to Maryann Phillips, a retired mental health worker, who loves long distance biking!  Maryann has biked across the United States multiple times on various routes.  She started riding her bike at the tender age of 14 and is still loving her two and now three wheeled rides.  After listening to this episode we bet you will be ready to dust off the bike in your garage and hit the road!

This episode  highlights the wonderful  retirement of Donny and Victoria Chamberland who retired in the beautiful Dominican Republic.  Donny retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years (Thank you!) and they decided to retire early to Victoria's home country while watching their American dollars go further.  They love the climate, people and now their retirement adventures!  If you are like me, the Dominican Republic is now on your bucket list!
