At the age of 5, Jessica Hulsey was prepared to warn her kindergarten class about the dangers of shooting heroin. Jessica's parents suffered from substance use disorder, which greatly disrupted her life. Both of her parents died young, as the the result of complications from years of addiction. As a young adult, Jessica was invited to tell her story to a wide range of audiences and she hasn't stopped since. Jessica graduated from Princeton and went on to form the Addiction Policy Forum in 2015. The Addiction Policy Forum is out with a new guide for families on navigating addiction and treatment. The organization also has an alcohol and drug helpline.
