  • Forgiveness is Possible with Noah Levine
It is possible to forgive ourselves completely and still lives with a mind that judges and criticizes and remembers the pain of the past, and maybe even still gets a bit resentful at times. It is possible to forgive others. No matter what they have done. No one is unforgivable. But, there are unforgivable things, actions.
I think that forgiveness is not only possible; to forgive ourselves and to forgive others, and to ask for forgiveness and to make amends when we have caused harm. Not only forgiveness internally through the meditative training of the heart and mind, but I also believe in direct amends; of actually talking to people and apologizing, asking for forgiveness and taking responsibility.
And not only is it possible, I believe that it's necessary. Necessary if our goal is happiness. If our goal is freedom from suffering. If our goal is to have a life of ease and well-being and contentment and you want to be comfortable in your own skin, in your own mind, and your own heart, then forgiveness is going to be necessary.

  • Clinging to Views and Opinions
Could you imagine getting to a place, in your meditation practice, where you could communicate with people and be free from a comparing mind, and just be present with someone, just as they are rather than the whole sizing up dance of superior, inferior or even equal.
    Meditation contemplations:
    Why am I practicing meditation?
What are my hopes and aspirations?
Why am I continuing to practice?
    What is my motivation?

  • Freedom, Transformation, Awakening with Noah Levine
The fact that we have a map of how to traverse, navigate our way through this human experience.
Follow up talk from last week’s talk, discussion and practice about the importance of the intention we set for our practice based on Ajahn Amaro’s strong statements that if we’re not bringing loving kindness and an attitude of radical acceptance and friendliness to our mindfulness practice, that actually mindfulness will not work.
It’s actually a necessity to bring friendliness. It is a necessity to bring kindness and compassion into our internal investigation that will lead to our liberating insights and breakthroughs we are seeking.
