Shawn Ramirez won the masters division CrossFit Games four years in a row and took 2nd in 2018. In November of 2018, CrossFit announced that he had tested positive for two banned substances at the 2018 Games and sanctioned him for 4 years.

He says he took a tainted supplement which is how the banned substances got into his system, but that he didn't understand the appeals process and couldn't get his appeal with CrossFit HQ handled in time.
