“Your fears arise within you and stay within you, as long as you allow them to.”
Your fear can be studied, examined and analysed to find a solution for it. I want to tell you one thing…it’s okay to be afraid, it’s okay to let these emotions within you and it’s okay to have them. Fear just like many negatively associated emotions can be turned into the biggest power driver.
I want to share this episode with you to inspire, motivate you and share with you my tactics on how to turn your fears into your own benefits. If you are afraid and you don’t know how to deal with your fears, do the following:
Step 1: Click in your head and treat your fear as a project or a test. Let it affect you and see what is happening. Analyse it closely and identify the key feelings that are happening during this time. You can also write them down or record your feelings to outline your behaviour during this time. Only by analysing this and treating this as your project, you will already feel less scared.
Step 2: Once you have done the full analysis and you know how you are reacting, identify the winners during this time. Does fear make you more determined? Does it somehow push to action to win? Does it make you move faster? Does it help you to be more concentrated? If you found any kind of winners such as these, you found your power!
Step 3: Conquering fears takes time, be prepared for that. Before you will completely get rid of it, you need to create ‘emergency exists’. Emergency exists are things that help you cover the fear, forget it or be less scared about. It can be a talk to your friend about it, joke about this in public, or masks that help you not show it to others.
Step 4: Once you learnt yourself, identified the pattern of what it does to you, created and developed emergency exits, you are ready to face it. To completely remove it, you need to accept yourself as you are, love yourself and work on your confidence level. Many of the fears that we have come from lack of self-esteem and lack of confidence. Love yourself, chin up, and go for it. Choose the most comfortable time for yourself and face it, whatever it is.
Step 5: In case none of the tests helped, never ever give up. Throw this thought away out of the window, it doesn’t exist. If you are afraid of something, hustle and work very hard to make sure that you don’t face it. Work hard, efficient, smart and never give up.
Step 6: What if your fear cannot be that easily solved or it’s deeper and you are looking for a solution to get rid of it? Then, I suggest to take a longer journey by first learning yourself, controlling your fears and work on your mindset. Everything that we think of, afraid of, have feelings for come from our minds. You’ve got to work on your mindset to change that feeling to be able to activate your inner power against your fear. Nobody knows what happened to you and you are the only one who can help you to get out of the fear circle. Positive thinking, straight posture, smile is already 50% of the work done. Be fearless, go against your fears and if they put you against the wall…break that damn wall!
