In this episode, I sit down with Omar to hear about his remarkable journey from growing up in Iraq during the Gulf War to moving to New Zealand as a refugee, and eventually immigrating to the U.S. and attending the University of Colorado in Boulder. We explore his martial arts journey, including discovering Jiu-Jitsu, training with Amal Easton at Easton BJJ, and later moving to Los Angeles to train at Legacy. We also discuss the incredible sense of community that Jiu-Jitsu brings. Additionally, we chat about old PRIDE Fighting Championships in Japan, epic fights and fighters, his travels to Brazil, and everything this journey has given him. Enjoy the conversation!
