Alex 'Poatan' Pereira is currently a top 10 pound for pound fighter in the UFC and is the former Middleweight Champion of the World who has now moved up into the Light Heavyweight division. A story nothing short of amazing with a harsh upbringing in the favelas of Brasil which saw Alex take a decision to step into kickboxing to look to build himself a better life path and avoid taking a wrong turn. Without doubt 'Poatan' (known as stone hands) has had a dominant career in the combat game accomplishing an incredible record in the professional kickboxing game beating the likes of Israel Adesanya before moving over to the UFC in 2021. It didn't take long for Alex to shock the world by winning the World Middleweight Championship knocking out a familiar rival in Israel Adesanya in the championship rounds. One of the highlights of our show so far as we discuss Alex's rise to the top in MMA, understanding World Champion mentality and how the focus is now on becoming the World Light Heavyweight Champion in the UFC. Hell of a show and thankyou Plinio Cruz for supporting translation throughout the episode.
