The Tahbilk winery, in the Nagambie Lakes area of Victoria, boasts being one of Australia’s oldest wineries and is also part of the First Families of Australian Wine. The Purbrick family have run the show at Tahbilk for 5 successive generations. Alister, a 5th generation Purbrick and the man who has been at the helm of Tahbilk since 1978, joins me in the Cellar Door to reflect on his journey, the journey of the whole Purbrick family, and what it means to be making world class Australian wines. Alister’s story really begins with a reflex answer he gives to a question he is asked when he is in high school. The rest makes for a great a story. A massive thanks to Alister for joining me.
