EPISODE 160./
A good day to you fair listener. Welcome back to another week of the pod!
This week in beauty news, we're chatting the zoom boom. Yes, you heard us. The rise in cosmetic surgery and procedures as a result of us, staring at ourselves for hours and hours every day. So are we all getting a little taste of how the influencers (who we're so quick to judge) feel? Then, an insight into the very real complications of filler as seen by Lily Ghalechi. Then, the pending launch we didn't ask for, of Jaclyn Roxanne(cough, Hill)'s super soft and cozy robes, Ultra Violette are having a 2-for-1 day TODAY, and Estee Lauder is closing down their designer fragrances division.
To finish up beauty news this week, we wanted to chat briefly about the trends seen at Paris Fashion week this week. The Graphic liner, wet hair looks and lacquered lips ... oh, and mullets are here to stay. And finally, YouTube Shorts. We see the need to change... but could youtube please stop?

Hello pod family, and a very big hello to everyone who participated in our walk/run challenge over the weekend!! Your stickers are on their way, and please DM us if you have a profile on private because we may not have seen your participation.
This week, Alex was blindsided by a launch from Glossier with the launch of their new Monochrome Eyeshadow trios. Speaking of eyeshadow palettes, Jaclyn Hill has collaborated with Morphe again to bring out an Autumnal delight of a neutral palette.
The biggest beauty news this week, globally, is that Emma Lewisham has announced that they are the first beauty brand to become Carbon Positive. This means that they are not only carbon neutral… they’re offsetting more carbon than they produce. But there’s more, they’ve gone one step further to share the blueprint for how they did this with every other beauty company. Truly an amazing step forward for the beauty industry and our planet.
Also in beauty news, Laneige have released a brand new essence like oil serum, ModiBodi have released (a few weeks ago) adaptive underwear and we’re late but need to discuss it, and NetaPorter have TODAY released their advent calendar.
To finish the ep, we’re ending with beauty faves, some extensive non beauty faves and snaaaacks.

Happy Monday! You'll all be very glad to hear that we've survived another disastrous week in Melbourne and THANK GOODNESS for that because Survivor season 41 has kicked off and things are looking up.
Amidst protests and earthquakes, we have a little chit chat to cover before jumping into beauty news. First up, the EU is having some troubles with cosmetic ingredient testing on animals which comes up against some long standing animal cruelty legislations. Gem Kind has announced their rebrand as Gem, Smashbox have acquired the best selling items from Becca and re-labelled them as a brand collaboration. What the heck?! Makeup by Mario has hit Sephora Australia, and Christine from Selling Sunset has collaborated with Ciate on a very random colour changing collab.
Next up, this week we're chatting through a listener question! It is 'why does my concealer end up looking... some kind of way'. WELL we're here to chat through the different considerations when it comes to buying and applying flawless concealer under the eyes. There's a bit to break down, but we chat through the difference between a corrector and a concealer and troubleshoot some of the key under eye concealer qualms.
To finish, we've got beauty faves, lots of non beauty faves and snacks to see us out!

And Kylie is about to birth another beauty line (or two?!) with Kylie Baby just around the corner..
Next we're chatting very briefly about beauty trends that are coming through and the looks seen at the Met Gala, and then Alex has a small pile of empties to run through before discussing all of the things that she broke her no-buy to buy. Heeeello and happy glorious, sunny, delivery-filled Monday to you all (#manifesting).
This week, we're going to start the episode, for a brief moment, trash talking Jaclyn Hills' most recent 'fashion haul'. Wow. This maybe brought a little too much joy to our lives, but we digress.
First up in beauty news, Charlotte Tilbury and Alpha H have announced that both of their brands are now leaping bunny certified, and speaking of Tilbs, we have a launch date at Mecca - September 21st.
Urban Decay is releasing a new naked palette... but this one, we might just get around, KVD Beauty has released an interesting Gel Contour with a doefoot applicator and Face Halo Glow is showing us that their new additions to their line are just like a chocolate milkshake ... only exfoliating.
In beauty influencer news, this week we are spying on Estee Lalonde who seems to have been on holiday with her beau 😍, The Anna Edit has had her little baby, and Jennifer Anniston's hair care brand LolaVie is just about to launch with their first product, a glossy detangler.
Next up, Alex is discussing the fact that she's just finished her 12 weeks of Laser Hair Removal using the Braun Silk Expert Pro 5. And after that, we're discussing one of our listener(maybe even you!)'s beauty gripes. We asked you guys on our Instagram over at @allbasescovered.pod what are the ongoing issues you have with your makeup so that we can help you solve them. First up, how to stop getting mascara on your eyelids!
Finishing off as always with two very passionate beauty faves, non beauty faves and snacks to round out the episode.
