EPISODE 150./
Happy Monday! Strap yourselves in for numbers and facts today because beauty news is full of acquisitions and investments.
Starting things off, we're chatting 5k radius' because this week, Lisa's family have settled in their new beachside accom, Alex is taking on Steptember and Lisa was deathly ill this week after being struck down with a 48hr virus. How. Who knows.
There has been some significant beauty news this week! First off, Shisedo has sold Laura Mercier, Buxom and Bare Minerals, so let's chat about why they sold and who they sold these 3 beauty giants to! Also. So sorry on the maths. Corrections corner, a billion is a THOUSAND million... not a million million... Moving on, Glossier has announced this week that they're launching a Retinol a ~+* groundbreaking _+~`* 'no downtime' skincare product (that we definitely haven't seen before), Kester Black has joined Birchal for equity investment crowdfunding - yes, we discuss what that actually means. Also in beauty news, Boots has partnered with Deliveroo in the UK, Zoe Sugg had her baby, with a strange name... And Lisa has a conspiracy theory about it. Nic Chapman has gone the full chop of her hair as she's just finished her HSCT treatment for MS. And Fiiiinally, Jonathan Van Ness has launched his JVN hair line!
As Mecca is about to launch Charlotte Tilbury beauty in the coming weeks, you guys wanted to hear about our favourite products from the line! We're going to go through a quick run down of (mostly Lisa's) our favourites from CT makeup.
And finally, because this was a long episode of news, we're going to shoot through our beauty faves, non beauty faves and snacks.

In influencer/famous people news, Sarahs’ Day is taking a break from social and we’re wondering if there’s a particuuular reason why, and Ariana Grande is releasing a beauty brand R.E.M beauty!

EPISODE 146./
Hello everyone! As Melbourne lockdown continues, Lisa is on a high after making the locky-d induced decision to postpone her wedding, and Alex, is on a low like the rest of the state. Renovation content is underway as Alex has started demolishing her bathroom and laundry.
We also wanted to remind everyone about our (lisas) run club! In lieu of Lisas wedding date on October 1st, we’re doing a community ‘run for the pod’ as either a 10k or 21k which you can choose to run, or walk (or both!). There’s a participation award for everyone but no prizes other than Lisa’s glee when she sees how many of you she encouraged to exercise.
For anyone who participates in our group run/walk challenge, we will also be dropping a little incentive your way, so make sure to listen in for details!
In beauty news this week, Vieve is dropping yet another product - a primer. A highlighting glow primer. Much like Auric? And a little like her Skin Dew? Also maybe. Let’s wait and see. Next up, Pinterest is taking further steps toward being a more inclusive platform. In conjunction with their inclusivity team and BIPOC consultants, they’ve rolled out their hair pattern feature to aid more inclusive searching by filtering hair trends based on hair type (coily, curly, wavy, straight etc). Finally, time to hang up your christmas stockings because beauty advent calendars are heeeeere *squeals*. It’s a terrifying thought, but if there’s one that you’re extra keen to get your hands on, now is the time to start signing up to the wait lists.
In this weeks’s beauty breakdown, we’re discussing Lisas breast reduction. In depth. There are many new listeners to the pod who didn’t know that Lisa had undergone this procedure, and it turns out many of you have questions. Hope you enjoy this breakdown and feel free to slide into our DMs with questions.

EPISODE 143./
The eternal question… Are the sprouts on your head from breaking or new hair growth?
This week, we start the pod by reflecting on Lisas mental breakdown from Instagram earlier this week, and don’t worry, checking in to see how she’s going. Quick wedding chat around planning, re planning, and how alex’s boobs are going to fit into her dress for Lisas wedding aside… it’s time to move into beauty news.
First up in beauty news, there’s been some sassing and slandering going on in the Aus beauty community due to the great tax divide. Next piece of beauty news is absolutely not beauty news but we’ll allow Lisa to talk about her one true love for a minute - the census. Back to beauty news, Morphe has brought out a disgusting cherry cola collection that looks like Too Faced, Too Faced have brought out a rank fragrance, Charlotte Tilbury is launching a Super Nude collection and we have additional details about the new Mecca Max Skincare line.
Beauty news really chewed up our time this week, so next up we quickly run through some empties, followed by our beauty faves, non beauty faves and snacks!

EPISODE 142./
WHO WOULD BELIEVE that we would be back here again? Not us! Are we naive? Yes. We digress. Let’s chat beauty things.
This week in beauty news, some new launches have landed/are landing at Mecca that completely passed us by, Kylie Cosmetics and Mecca Max SKIN. Sam from Pixiwoo got married. Go To have launched a product for their BroTo line that we love to hate, and Rihanna is officially the second richest female billionaire.
Next up, a LQOW! One of our listeners reached out to ask us what our favourite vitamin C serums are, and why. So we share a lengthy list of recommendations for different skin types and concerns. Then, a beauty breakdown from another listener question about beauty supplements and whether Alex is still using The Beauty Chef daily glow powder. We chat a little about that, and then jump into a breakdown on collagen in beauty products which has been on our to-do list for a while! Lisa fully got her science brain, journal reviewing expertise on for this one, so please enjoy!
Finishing things off with our beauty faves, non beauty faves and snacks <3
Please head to our IG if you haven’t already, we’ve been posting lots of ridiculous beauty and non beauty related content for some light relief during these lockdown times.
