Amazing Grace Talk

Glenn and Susan were some of the 1st people my husband Erik and I met when we joined Trinity Church.   Erik and I had taken on a leadership role for greeters and first-time guests/VIPs and they came to the initial meeting and were extremely helpful and friendly.

Since they had been members of Trinity for over 35 years at the time, we were appreciative of their love and support. 

It was later that I learned of Susan's battle with breast cancer.  We discussed them being on the show/podcast and so here we are!  This is a heartfelt journey that will touch your heart and soul and hopefully ignite your passion for Christ and faith in HIM.  

A note from Glenn:

Susie and I met three weeks before the prom our junior year in high school. I asked her to prom and we began dating. She started attending church with me and gave her life to Jesus in July. We dated all that summer and in January of our senior year, I proposed, Susie turned 18 in February, I turned 18 in May, we graduated June 3rd and we got married on July 18th at 2:30 in the afternoon and left at 6:30 that evening headed for Texas and have been here ever since. I graduated from CFNI in May of 1983 and became a career firefighter in 1985. We have three children, 2 daughters, and one son, and now have 5 grandchildren.

In July of 2017, Susie was diagnosed with breast cancer. It started a year of chemo, surgery, more chemo, and radiation. Through it all, she had NOT ONE OUNCE OF NAUSEA OR VOMITING and we've never heard of anyone going through that like that. God blessed her mightily and used her to minister to others going through cancer during that time with her spirit and attitude. God spoke to me and her through it all with numerous words and miracles, financially and physically.

I have known Dawn for over thirty years and knew she was committed to making a difference in schools, but I had no idea of the commitment she made to children and it all began when her son started to fail in the school district where she was in administration. Dawn’s story of why she believes every child can learn at high levels.  Dawn's story will bring tears of joy and hope.  Dawn is committed to helping any child that struggles and she will not charge the families a dime.

I was so grateful to sit down with Alexis and hear her story of strength and courage.  Seriously, I know that there are so many woman who have gone through the loss of a baby. Whether it be early in your pregnancy or possibly up to the third trimester.  The feelings of hurt, loss, and grief are all the same.  She will share how her faith was shaken but not lost. 

Born and raised in eastern North Carolina.  Alexis, a Wife,  a Mom, and student embarking on a journey to help others through hurt,  she’s been through while still growing in a stronger relationship with God.  Alexis and her husband Paul Jr. have experience being NICU parents due to their oldest son Landon being born prematurely at just 24 weeks weighing just 1 pound 11 ounces and have 3 baby angels that her family is believing they will meet in heaven again one day. In the near future The Foxworth family will be launching a foundation that will help families in any way they can with the very situation they went through.

Stephen's life became something he could never imagine as he chose to do the "right thing!"
While at dinner with some friends he shared how he had witnessed some things at his work that seemed illegal.  Little did he know that he was speaking to another government employee. 

At this point, he had no choice but to blow the whistle! If not he would be held accountable as they might have thought he was a part of it. 

With no other choice, his existence became a life of secrecy, living under the radar, and falling into the pit of alcohol abuse, loneliness, and hopelessness!   

Today after eight LONG years, Stephen has is now living and walking in victory.  He found peace through his Journey when he went back to his roots of being raised in the church as it showed to be a safe place of comfort and now, Stephen is finally FREE!

 My husband Erik and I have known Stephen since our high school days!  He worked for my husband's family company the "Oil X Change" as a Grease Monkey but one day after spilling a beer on a guy at Keller's Drive-in Dallas, TX. He got hired by Nortel and traveled all over the world and landed in DC.
 
We are grateful for his friendship as he walks in sobriety and joy after a long 8 years of a terrible court case that finally ended this year.

Imagine you meet the man or woman of your dreams.  You date for several months then decide to get married. Yet on your honeymoon you quickly realize something is terribly wrong...and the thought crosses your mind: "Did I make a huge mistake!"

Host Erika Seamayer-Williamson invites Pastor Becky Hennesy into the studio to discuss the topic of marriage. Why do so many marriages struggle to get off the launch pad? Why do so many marriages (even within the Church) end in divorce?

Although she's been married for nearly 42 years now, Becky and her husband Jim have had more than their share of trials...and pain so bad that Becky admits she actually hated Jim during the first few years of their marriage. Yet, they had to keep a front to the rest of the world because they served in pastoral ministry. The double life nearly destroyed their marriage yet the power of the Holy Spirit, divine intervention, and personal soul-searching led them to rebuild their marriage on a solid and loving foundation. 

Today Jim and Becky are co-lead pastors at Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, Texas. Their marriage is now strong, healthy and happy...and both agreed years ago to let their marital struggles be an open book and serve as a cautionary tale for others.

Ever met someone whose life story has so many twists and turns that it seems almost too incredible to believe? Barbara Walker would qualify to be in that exclusive club.

Host Erika Seamayer-Williamson sits down with Barbara to talk all things about overcoming enormous challenges. They met several years ago at their church while serving/volunteering. It's clear Barbara, who spent years in law enforcement in the Illinois prison system, is a fighter and refuses to let obstacles arrest her faith.
 
One of Barbara's biggest challenges of learning how to lean on God's amazing grace has been in the area of parenting. After raising her own  five children, Barbara took custody of her six grandchildren after her 32-year-old daughter died of AIDS (contracted from her husband who was a download brother, as Barbara called it). During the entire ordeal, local football legend Deion Sanders heard about Barbara's story and provided incredible support for her family. This episode unpacks that divine appointment blessing for Barbara's life.

Barbara currently serves as head of security at Trinity Church (Cedar Hill, Texas). She also is studying at a local seminary to prepare herself for full-time ministry.

This is part 2 of a conversation where host Erika  Seamayer-Williamson turns the mic around on her own podcast producer Rob Price as they discuss the details of God's amazing grace found in the blood covenant of Jesus Christ.

Rob shared how he accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age...and was filled with the Holy Spirit as a teenager, yet it wasn't until his early 20s when his life took a radical shift. That transformation unfolded as he discovered the reality and the revelation of the blood covenant established by Jesus on the Cross.

Donna Banks-Smith shares a sobering and honest conversation with host Erika Seamayer-Williamson about her personal struggle with crippling addictions. One surface, it appeared her primary vice was alcohol, but there was more...it was the empty social life and the pointless barhopping that added to her misery on "the morning after" each night out on the town.

Driven to redirect her own life, one day Donna made a resolute decision at the core of her soul.

She quit drinking. Cold turkey quit...But it still wasn't enough.

Donna shares how her life began to truly turn towards deeper significance when she allowed God through Jesus Christ to take over her affections and desires. This conversation is intensely personal as Donna reveals that her life remains troubled by a lack of peace.
