In this episode of Amazing Grace Talk, host Erika Seamayer-Williamson sits down with good friend Kathryn Yarbrough. Their conversation takes listeners on a riveting journey into Kathryn's traumatic childhood and young adult life...and how she found freedom from the spiritual darkness that had control over her life for decades.

Until age 5, Kathryn was an orphan who spent time in and out of foster homes and was subjected to crippling physical and sexual abuse. That secret trauma held a grip over her life for years until well into adulthood.

Kathryn shares with Erika how God supernaturally revealed to her some troubling biological family secrets through a waitress at a random west Texas restaurant. Spoiler alert: that waitress turned out to be Kathryn's cousin!

Listeners will discover how a cleansing encounter with the Holy Spirit literally set Kathryn free and launched her into a new realm of genuine intimacy with the Father.

Today, Kathryn knows first hand the power of God's ability to deliver someone from deep places of darkness. She's a wife, mom, writer, communicator, minstrel, and entrepreneur. Her business venture is really a ministry that puts a new spin on the age-old Biblical concept of prayer cloths.

As a police officer for nearly 25 years, Alvin Sims was charged to enforce "law & order" and help keep the peace in Duncanville, Texas. He was highly decorated and equally respected by his peers who also wore the badge.

In Amazing Grace Talk's first international interview, host Erika Seamayer-Williamson sits down with a very special couple who are transplanted Texans...from Brazil. The journey of Cyllas and Thais Marins from their home country to the Dallas area is a story that perfectly illustrates why the AGT podcast exists. 

It's painful but heartfelt trail that touches all the bases of amazing grace. 

Forgiveness. Reconciliation. Redemption.

With endearing and winsome Brazilian accents, the Marins share their story of how God intervened in a big way, even moving them to the United States (with no working knowledge of English). Once in America, God also sent them back to a Bible college for more training. 

A few years before back in Brazil, the Marins were caught in the crossfire and aftermath of their lead pastor's moral failure. What made it so painful and personal was the fact their lead pastor was also Cyllas' own father.

As Cyllas was left to pick up the pieces, things turned even worse. He and Thais were subject to unthinkable betrayal, devastating ridicule, and abandoned relationships from their own friends and church members. 

When sin is discovered in the camp, the collateral damage within the Body of Christ is often too difficult to overcome. But by God's amazing grace, the Marins overcame...and today they are flourishing in their new ministry at Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, Texas.

David Broussard is a man of many talents. He's experienced three diverse careers in one life--each with its own amazing story of God's touch on his life. Host Erika Seamayer-Williamson sits down with David to explore his transformation from rock band member to hair stylist to jeweled steel artist. In the middle of that journey David encountered the power of God that radically changed his life.

Their friendship spans more than 20 years including a moment when David grabbed hold of a blessing found in I Chronicles 4:10 made famous by the book The Prayer of Jabez. He unpacks this passage of Scripture and how it has directly impacted his life.

On New Year’s Day 2017, Anna Slayton experienced a mother’s worst nightmare. While working an overtime shift as a nurse, Anna received a phone call and was told her 2-year-old son had just drowned. 

Host Erika Seamayer-Williamson talk with Anna about overcoming unspeakable tragedy and how an encounter with God literally saved her own life from a suicide attempt. Today Anna walks with a poise and a peace that showcases the amazing grace of God in her life. Her journey from unspeakable anger toward those responsible for her son’s accidental death to genuine forgiveness has important lessons for any listener.

Anna is now re-married, has four children, and is earning a degree to become a nurse practitioner. To that end she is launching Kardia Wellness, a health/nutritional coaching service designed to “bring physical, emotional and spiritual care all in one.”

Host Erika Seamayer-Williamson kicks off the first full podcast of Amazing Grace Talk with a revealing conversation alongside her good friend Robin Raetzman.

Erika shares her story of being set free from a toxic co-dependent marriage full of chaos, alcoholism, drug use, fear, and shame. After 16 years of being a single mom, Erika was still stuck in her past and gripped with the paralyzing power of un-forgiveness.

But then grace--the unique and amazing grace of God--confronted her damaged heart...and she was changed forever. Erika and Robin discuss the events that led to her spiritual freedom, fresh joy, and a new zeal for life in Christ. Gone forever was the overwhelming burden and guilt associated with codependency and trying to make a spouse happy as well as others.

Now nearly a decade into Erika's second marriage to her 5th-grade boyfriend, yes it's true and his name is really Erik.  She gives back others what the Holy Spirit has taught her through the Amazing Grace Retreats. These are Christ-centered weekend getaways to places like South Dakota, Florida and Texas designed help women find clarity, overcome struggles, and discover their true calling.
