At 1:28am early Tuesday morning, a cargo ship collided into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, causing the bridge to collapse. In twin rulings Monday, a trial date was set for Trump's historic criminal trial in the hush money case against him, and an appeals court allowed the former president to reduce his bond from $464 million to $175 million in the New York civil fraud judgment against him, his adult sons, and company. In a video statement released by Kensington Palace, the Princess of Wales announced she has been diagnosed with cancer and is in the "early stages" of chemotherapy treatment. The New York Times is reporting that on the morning of January 6, 2021, President Donald Trump warned Vice President Mike Pence by phone that it would be a "career killer" if Pence defied him and certified the 2020 election results.
