Hey ABV listeners! Before we get into episode details, we would like to take a moment to thank all of you for showing up to our very first ABV Happy Hour last Friday at the Mix Downtown! We had such a blast meeting each and every one of you in person and we really appreciate the time and support you give to us each week. 

On Episode 15, we discuss the wonderful Happy Hour turnout at the beginning of the episode, after Claire introduces her cocktail of the week, “Apple Moscow Mule”. Full drink recipe is below. On this episode, the gals recap the previous week by sharing their, “Rose and Thorn”, present local and national news highlights, including: a local news story highlighting the 30-plus people inflatable raft pile up rescue mission on the America River, Instagram removing likes and Jaden Smith’s recent philanthropic efforts to feeding the homeless on Skid Row. This week, the girls give listener advice about whether or not to regulate cussing around kids in social settings and recap the first "ABV homework" assignment, by sharing their thoughts on the hit HBO series, Euphoria. Are you shriveled up like a sad raisin after the extended 4th of July weekend like we are? Well, Fran’s delicious “916 Mojito cocktail” recipe is something to look forward to after you fall off the detox wagon again in time for the weekend, full recipe is listed below. This week, the girls give listener advice about how to prepare for a California earthquake and what to expect when your close friends start to have babies but you are definitely not! WARNING/SORRY TO OUR MALE LISTENERS: Fran goes on another man hating rant again about women taking the burden of childcare so either pick up the slack or just nod your head? Once again, the ABV ladies answer another round of “ask me anything” by sharing their favorite conspiracy theories. The highlight of the episode is Claire’s hater of the week, “Christians Against Little Mermaid” in response to the terrible backlash against the recent casting of Ariel, Halle Bailey. Fran’s 916 Mojito Cocktail Recipe:
Simple syrup: 
1 cup white sugar
1 cup water
1/4 cup mint
Simmer on low

2 cans Lime bubble water
1/2 cup lime juice
3/4 - 1 cup vodka 

PS: Add a tajin rim for a spicy twist!

It is the week of the 4th of July, and Claire has whipped up a refreshing cocktail recipe, “Claire’s Boozey Pink Lemonade” perfect for the extended holiday weekend, full recipe is listed below. On Episode 12 we announce the winner of our listener contest…with a special twist! This week, the girls give advice to a listener about how to decide whether or not to have a second child and answer another round of “ask me anything” by sharing their hypothetical last meal before execution. Erica’s hater of the week is a cautionary tale to remind people to think twice before buying a ticket to a concert at the Toyota Ampitheater in Wheatland, with a hilarious throwback situation that happened at that awful venue over 15 years prior featuring Francesca, of course!

Summer has officially begun and the ladies could not be happier. They are building their tans, beating the heat and sipping on way too many cocktails. 1 cup Malibu rum

2/3 cup coconut cream

1 1/3 cup Pineapple juice

Lots and lots and lots and lots of ice

Blend to desired consistency enjoy

Baltimore Zoo Recipe

1 cup white rum

1 cup silver tequila

1 cup vodka

1 cup gin

1 cup triple sec

1/2-2/3 cups grenadine 

2 light beers

2 cups Orange juice

Pour into a pitcher* mix with ice and enjoy

Erica’s Strawberry Daiquiri Recipe

1 1/2 cups Choice of alcohol (rum, vodka, etc.)

1/2-3/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice 

16 ounces or 1 bag Frozen Strawberries 

1/4-1/3 cups simple syrup

4 cups ice

Blend all ingredients together in a blender and sip away.

Mix three parts Prosecco, to two parts Aperol, to two parts club soda. Add ice and enjoy!
