  • Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Food Fight & Missing Green
Ahhhhh! After 10,000 years Immortan Hoof is finally running the store, and that can only mean one thing – It’s Morphin Time!!! That’s right, we’re talkin’ about everyone’s favorite kids show from the 90’s: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! And we’re not just talking about one episode, but TWO! Food Fight & Missing Green!

I’m your former host, Dave, and joining me as we bow to Immortan Hoof’s diabolical might are fellow Power Rangers fans and middle aged men with attitude, Ryan, Cody, and of course, Immortan Hoof (Nick, to his friends).

Listen as we discuss how teenagers with attitude can somehow be so darn wholesome; we wonder why Billy is dressed like a Chucky doll; and finally, we debate the ethical ramifications of Zordon and his power to spy on everyone on the planet, anywhere, anytime.

  • Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine’s Day, Wasteland! It’s that special time of the year where you show that you care by making a last minute stop at a Walgreen's to buy some cheap chocolates and a teddy bear for your significant other. It’s also the time where we here at Apocalypse Video throw caution to the wind and screen a potentially terrible rom-com to celebrate the holiday.

    God help us all…

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we try to make sense of ninety seven different plot lines are fellow cinephiles Mike and Jackie.

Listen as we watch yet another rom-com dealing with the lives of the idle rich; Topher Grace shames a woman who’s just trying to pay off her student loans; and finally, we wonder what kind of person tells the grandparents of the child they’re babysitting that she’s preparing for a Valentine’s Day sex romp.

This is Dave from Sector…signing off. Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! Don’t forget to buy flowers for all of your many mistresses.

  • Star Trek: The Next Generation - 11001001
    Captain’s Log, Stardate: 41365.9

With Star Trek: Generations behind us, we now start the second leg of our 178 part journey into the Final Frontier with Season 1’s 11001001. I must admit, the thought of having to sit through another Season 1 TNG is nauseating to say the least, but I am confident that the holodeck related storyline will result in the usual sexy shenanigans.

I’m your host and Captain, Dave, and joining me are the recently promoted Lieutenant Mike and First Officer Jackie.

Topics covered in this assignment include the mystery of Captain Picard’s “Personal Relaxation Light”; we wonder if the Bynars poop in pairs; and finally, Commander Riker beats Lt. Barclay to the punch when it comes to horny Holodeck fantasies as he creates a “sultry” jazz partner.

  • No Time to Die
Thank god for time rifts, or in this case, the Cross Rift Parcel Service, as I am happy to announce that Apocalypse Video has finally gotten its hands on the final Daniel Craig Bond film: No Time to Die. I must also give a big shout out to the Super fan of another podcast that Immortan Hoof (aka: Nick) and I apparently did in another timeline where we evidently reviewed all twenty five James Bond films. Kris…this one’s for you.

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me are fellow cinephiles and recently reactivated Double-O’s Mike, Jackie, Ryan, and Nick.

Listen as we discuss how No Time to Die rights most of the wrongs of Spectre, including having a car chase where there are actual stakes and innocent bystanders to almost run over; we stack Rami Malek’s Ambien-infused performance against the Bond villains of old; and finally, we talk about where we see the series going from here, and whether or not we’ll see a return to the more campy style of Bond’s past escapades (aka Double Take Pigeon).

This is Dave from Sector 2 bidding Daniel Craig a fond farewell as we add his name to the pantheon of actors to don the iconic tux of Agent 007. "To James...".

  • Looney Tunes: Back in Action
After a long vacation, the Apocalypse Video Podcast is Back…in Action, that is. Yes, thanks to a crappy bootleg from a vendor in Bartertown, an anticipated viewing of the latest Beatles documentary, Get Back, turns into a forced torture session of the 2003 box office bomb, Looney Tunes: Back in Action.

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me are fellow cinephiles and people who wish we could be watching Paul McCartney come up with #1 hits on the fly are Mike, Ryan, and Special Guest: Nick (aka: Immortan Hoof).

Listen as we discuss Back in Action’s troubled production history, which includes alternate concepts like Race Jam; Spy Jam; and Skate Jam (i.e. Tony Hawk, instead of Michael Jordan); Mike shocks us all with a hot take on the comedic legacy of Steve Martin; and finally, Nick and I activate our “Cult of Dalton” wonder twin powers as we talk about everyone’s favorite underrated 007, Timothy Dalton.

  • A Charlie Brown Christmas
Merry Christmas, everybody! While we may have already released a Christmas special this week, there’s one listener out there who needed some cheering up…

You didn’t think we’d forget about our boy, Chuck, did you?

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me on the final Saturday Morning Apocalypse of the year are fellow cartoonphiles and unlicensed psychiatric helpers, Ryan and Nick (aka Immortan Hoof) - and this time we’ve got a big one; the granddaddy of Christmas specials: A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Listen as we experience Charlie Brown in peak Charlie Downer state; we share a mutual disgust at the monsters (aka: children) that torment Charlie Brown; and finally, we provide a peak at the awesomeness we have in store for you next year, which includes a dive into Hey, Arnold, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, and everyone’s favorite crime solving do-gooder: Scooby-Doo.

  • A Muppet Family Christmas
Christmas is almost here! And you know what that means…TV Specials! And what better way to celebrate a pop culture tradition then by busting out a dusty old videotape and reliving the magic that is the 1987 ABC broadcast of A Muppet Family Christmas!

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we bask in the warmth of old school toy commercials and Jim Henson goodness are fellow cinephiles and Muppet-heads Ryan and Nick (aka, Immortan Hoof - Ruler of the Wasteland). Not included in this episode is Shift Lead Mike, who foolishly went shopping for last minute gifts in the middle of a blizzard.

Listen as we discuss the rampant commercialization of Christmas, which includes disturbing Sony ads, elephant shower accessories, and foreboding toy store slogans; things get creepy as a sleazy Turkey schmoozes his way onto Gonzo’s girlfriend; and finally, A Muppet Family Christmas gives the Avengers a run for their money as we witness the epic team up of the Sesame Street gang and the Muppets (prepare for spelling and counting jokes…).

And if you’ve never seen A Muppet Family Christmas before, be sure to check it out now on Apoco-Tube (formerly YouTube) by searching “A Muppet Family Christmas - Original 1987 Broadcast w/ Commercials”.

Only two more days until Christmas, folks…two more days to buy your first Sony…two more days to become a Toys R Us-Kid…and two more days for Mike to find his way back to the store through this violent blizzard. Godspeed, Videoman.

  • Star Trek: Generations
    Captain’s Log, Star Date 48632.4

The Apocalypse Video Trek Cast is about to complete the first leg of its 178 part journey. And it is with great reluctance that I turn over the duties of Captain, albeit temporarily, to Ensign Michael as he prepares for his first assignment as Host of the Podcast – I can only hope that he does not emulate the command style of William T. Riker, lest we crash the show into a barren planet…

I’m your (real) host, Dave, and joining me as we activate our emotion chips are fellow Trekkies Mike and Jackie.
Topics covered in this assignment include a possible explanation as to why the Enterprise is the only ship in the quadrant (...again); the Academy Award nominated cinematographer of the film teaches us that scenes are more dramatic when everything is super dim; and finally, we shake our heads at Picard's utter indifference at the total destruction of the beloved Enterprise-D.

The Apocalypse Video Trek-Cast will return as we go back to the beginning of The Next Generation with Season One. (Let’s hope we’re not watching that racist one with Tasha Yar…or the one where everyone’s drunk – who am I kidding, they’re all pretty bad)

  • Rugrats - Chanukah
It’s the last day of Hanukkah, and this year Apocalypse Video is ending the holiday Rugrats style, with the season four classic, Chanukah.

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we learn all about the meanie of Hanukkah are fellow toonephiles and Cynthia fans Ryan, Mike, Jackie, and Nick (aka: Immortan Hoof).

Listen as we discuss our own histories with Hanukkah; Mike passionately extols the deliciousness of latkes as premier Jewish cuisine; and finally, Ryan regales us with a story of how he once bravely helped a Jewish person in need of electrical deactivation.

  • A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving, folks! Whether you’re at home enjoying a nice meal with your family or if you’re alone eating take out food because your family sucks and you wish them nothing but ill will, we’ve got you covered with a brand new special Non-Saturday Saturday Morning Apocalypse!

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me on this special holiday edition of Saturday Morning Apocalypse are confirmed Charlie Brown-heads Mike, Jackie, and Ryan.

Listen as we discuss our histories with good old Charlie “Chuck” Brown, including trips to Knott’s Berry Farm and acting in elementary school stage productions; Mike, Jackie, and Ryan explain the difference between filthy and potentially homeless characters (aka Pig Pen and Linus); and finally, I - a Charlie Brown newbie -  try to understand the appeal of Charles Schulz’s creation, which as far as I can tell has only one lively character (Snoopy), with a supporting cast of mostly manic depressives.
