Arizona State Sun Devils football was dealt a vicious blow when former four-star quarterback recruit Jaden Rashada opted to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. The announcement comes with one week remaining in spring practices after the portal opened earlier in the week. The decision was certainly unexpected, and the Sun Devils are left with more questions than answers... although they may have a successor in the wings. Throughout camp, it has widely been believed that Sam Leavitt has outplayed every other quarterback on the field. Leavitt, also a four-star recruit in the 2023 cycle, transferred to Arizona State after one season at Michigan State. Leavitt was brought in as a means of creating competition for Rashada and veteran Trenton Bourguet to compete with. After Leavitt started to seemingly pull away, Rashada entered the Transfer Portal. All eyes will be on Leavitt for the next few months as Arizona State Sun Devils football looks for him to lead the program.
