Around the House with Eric G®: Upgrade Your Home Like a Pro

Around the House this week: We have Caroline Blazovsky "America's Healthy Home Expert" back in the studio as co-host today. That open concept house is still a popular concept. Even after 2020 when people needed a lot of space for online meetings and school... people want that open feeling. You can really get yourself in trouble removing a wall without some research. Is there plumbing there? How about Electrical or HVAC? Plus there is all that engineering that needs to be figured out to see what that wall was already supporting.

Lighting design has changed a lot over even the last couple of years. Understanding how to design a space using the latest in lighting technology can make that job so much easier plus it ends up looking stunning. We talk about some of those key details you should know when you are planning the project.

You dont want to miss Caroline get chased out of the studio with a Wasp making a mad dash at her...Oh there is no way we would edit that out of the show LOL!

In today's episode we talk about how it is on US... the Design and Construction Industry, to tackle the homeless and low-income housing issues. In the US we spend on average $35,578 per year for every person who must endure homelessness. You would think that with that level of effort we would not be having such a growing problem.

We have a brilliant industry. We need to team up with medical professionals and come up with solutions to help fix this problem. Cheap housing is not just the issue as if you just put someone that is not able to help themselves in a home it will quickly get destroyed. This will take a team effort. Lets discuss HOW we could do it in todays Around the House Pro Insider.

Around the House this week: It used to be a California thing. Last year you saw the power company pulling down power when the winds went up and the dry air was blowing. Now we can expect that to happen across the Western US. Are you ready? Do you have water, fuel and a generator?

With the hot dry weather we are seeing already this season you should be ready for this to happen anytime in the US. I would be extra prepared for the West Coast.

Around the House this week: Caroline B "America's Healthy Home Expert" is back in the studio and we talk about countertops. There are great projects that you can do as a DIY project and there are some that you might want to leave for a pro. There is a huge trend of wood butcher block or epoxy and we will talk about where they work well and where you might run into trouble in your kitchen or bathroom. There are also some classic countertop materials that have come back to life that can save you money and look better than ever before.

We also talk about theme parks and specifically the documentary Class Action Park and how a small town can ignore safety and building codes and just let things get out of control and lead to injuries and worse.
