  • Chris Payne Releases The Book Where Are Your Boys Tonight
Meet Me in the Bathroom traced New York City's early 2000's rock scene, Where Are Your Boys Tonight? gives the inside story of the turn-of-the-millennium emo subculture that became bigger than anyone thought possible. There was Pete Wentz, the Fall Out Boy leader who launched a litany of scene- stealing bands and preposterous side-hustles, and Gerard Way, the wizard behind My Chemical Romance and The Black Parade. Panic! At the Disco and Paramore emerged soon after-a pair of intrepid outsiders who got massive playing by their own rules. As they ascended, MySpace took over the internet and the age of influencers dawned, with emo its choice aesthetic. Music journalist Chris Payne experienced emo's mainstream rise from sweaty crowds and mosh pits growing up in New Jersey. In Where Are Your Boys Tonight? he offers an authoritative, impassioned, and occasionally absurd account told through interviews with more than 150 people, from the scene's biggest bands, producers, and managers to the teenage fans who helped redefine American music culture. Men's Health recently named the book as one of the best nonfiction reads of the year!

  • Mikey Helton From Alone On History
The 10th season of The HISTORY® Channel's popular survival series “Alone” will push a new group of brave participants to the limit as they tap into their impressive survival skills in a fight to be the last person standing and win the $500,000 cash prize. Dropped in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada — home to vicious predators including territorial black bear, wolves, and moose — the ten survivalists will compete, endure bone-chilling temperatures and face off against some of the largest animals in North America to last for as long as they can. With just ten survival items per person and enough camera gear to self-document their experiences, this is the series' toughest season yet.

Mikey Helton grew up in a small town in Georgia where most of his time was spent in the wilderness. He often had to live without common comforts, which meant having no running water or electricity and leaning into living by hunting, tracking animals, fishing, trapping, purifying water and making fire. Mikey is a carpenter by trade. Alongside his wife and five children, Mikey practices a lot of natural and traditional methods like making natural medicines, harvesting wild foods, and crafting with natural materials. His youngest son is autistic, but even through his son's daily challenges, Mikey and his family bring healing to their situation by enjoying time in nature.

  • Wesley Lowery Creator Of BET's America In Black
Premiering on Sunday, June 4th, the forthcoming edition of BET’s monthly newsmagazine “America in Black” will feature a heart-wrenching investigative piece on unnecessary amputations with correspondent Wesley Lowery. Black Americans are up to three times more likely to have their limbs surgically removed than the national average. And research shows many of those amputations were preventable. One Mississippi doctor, Cardiovascular Solutions of Central Mississippi founder Dr. Foluso Fakorede, is making it his mission to educate patients and is challenging Congress to act. While Dr. Fakorede fights the epidemic, patients and their families are forced to readjust to their new lives as amputees as they stare down the barrel of mortality statistics following amputations. This piece is a collaboration with ProPublica, who initially reported the story.

Wesley Lowery is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, author and on-air correspondent. He currently works as a contributing editor at The Marshall Project and a Journalist in Residence at the CUNY Newmark Graduate School of Journalism. In nearly a decade as a national correspondent, Lowery has specialized in issues of race, justice and law enforcement. He led the Washington Post team awarded the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting in 2016 for the creation and analysis of a real-time database to track fatal police shootings in the United States. His project, “Murder with Impunity,” an unprecedented look at unsolved homicides in major American cities, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2019. His first book, They Can’t Kill Us All: Ferguson, Baltimore, and a New Era in America’s Racial Justice Movement, was a New York Times bestseller and awarded the Christopher Isherwood Prize for Autobiographical Prose by the LA Times Book Prizes.

  • Ezikiel Zeke Mitchell The Ride On Amazon Prime
The Ride – premiering May 30 on Prime Video -- is a new docuseries surrounding the world of Professional Bull Riders (PBR). The Ride gives viewers a first-of-its-kind, behind-the-scenes look at one of the world’s fastest-growing – and most dangerous – sports (bull-riding has an even higher risk of catastrophic injuries than the NFL), and follows the lives of its biggest stars, bringing fans closer to the action than ever before. The Ride follows an ensemble cast of bull-riders and coaches throughout the PBR Team Series as they navigate the league’s inaugural 2022 season, budding rivalries, exhilarating highs, and challenging lows. Ezekiel (Zeke) Mitchell is one of the top-ranked bull-riders in the world. He’s also captured nationwide media attention as one of the only Black bull-riders in the hunt for a title at the professional level of his sport. (There’s been just one Black champion in the history of pro bull-riding, Charlie Sampson, crowned in 1982.). One of 11 siblings, Zeke, who spent his childhood near Houston, always considered himself a cowboy, and loved watching PBR on TV from an early age. When he was a teenager, his parents begrudgingly allowed him to compete in a steer-riding competition at his church and he was hooked. Today, Zeke is following his dream of becoming a bull-riding champion, avoiding the dangers of the sport (his close friend Mason Lowe died at a PBR event in 2019 after a bull stomped on him), and pursuing superstardom in a sport not known for its diversity.
