Grammy-nominated guitarist and composer Will Bernard announces the release of Whereabouts, November 21 his forthcoming album on Denver-based record label Color Red. The record marks the return of Bernard’s high-energy ensemble The Freelance Subversives, a moniker borrowed from Terry Gilliam’s cult film Brazil. Blending classic soul-jazz, R&B, psychedelia, and funk, Whereabouts is an all-original, danceable collection crafted with a stacked roster of legendary NYC session heavyweights and jam-scene icons.
Founded by Eddie Roberts of The New Mastersounds, Color Red is renowned for its focus on premier vinyl releases from top-tier funk, soul, and jam artists. Whereabouts serves as the spiritual successor to Bernard’s acclaimed 2020 Ropeadope release, Freelance Subversives, expanding on his signature blend of deep grooves, expressive guitar work, and playful composition.
"The music I am involved with often doesn’t fit neatly into premade boxes," says Bernard. "The Freelance Subversives is a vehicle for me to write music oriented towards funky good times and solid grooves. It’s meant to be danced to, put on to enhance a mood, or gotten lost in with headphones."

Christian Love, son of The Beach Boys founding member and lead singer Mike Love and a longtime member of The Beach Boys touring band, releases his newest single, “Hold Me Again.” The emotional power ballad centers on the importance of showing up for someone when life becomes difficult, offering a message of love, support, and reassurance.The song began with a piano composition written by music promoter and songwriter Timmy Johnson of Capital Music Promotions. I've always called leaves falling in fall the final dance. It's so difficult to capture a single leaf in full flight before it rests forever on a forest floor. This season, a spider's thin web catches a leaf in frozen spirit. Long enough for me to finally take a photograph that could last much longer in the moments beyond our time on beautiful Mother Earth.

His mother was a high school dropout and a weak, timid woman. His household was filled with abject poverty. Then things got worse.His mother found comfort in the Evangelical born-again Christian faith and forced him and his sister to join.
