Pod Crashing One On One. This week we're putting focus on radio people making the transition into podcasting. Podcasting has always been associated with being raw and heavily untrained. • Oasis Trying To Find A Way Out Of Nowhere From Rock Photographer Jill Furmanovsky
Iconic photos by Jill Furmanovsky chart the dramatic career of Oasis-on stage, backstage, in the studio, and at play-paired with exclusive commentary by Noel Gallagher. Jill Furmanovsky's unparalleled work with Oasis stretches from the end of 1994-when the band's debut album, Definitely Maybe, became the fastest-selling debut album in British chart history at the time-to their last tense shows in 2009, which culminated in their split. Jill was given unprecedented access to countless worldwide performances and many recording sessions. In this single, beautiful volume, overseen and edited by Noel Gallagher, award-winner Furmanovsky presents, for the first time, her complete Oasis archive, which she describes as her best body of work, as well as insightful observations taken from notes she made at the time. Organized chronologically, the book depicts more than 500 photographs, contact sheets and sequenced film strips of the band on stage, backstage, on the road, in the studio, and behind the scenes. She captured the drama of the band's lifestyle during the 1990s when, as Jill said, "they were on a comet, hanging on for dear life." The access she was given allowed closeness, and she was able to document the competitive and at times volatile relationship between Noel and Liam Gallagher up to their split in 2009, creating a poignant visual diary that is more than the sum of its parts.Accompanying the images is illuminating commentary by Noel Gallagher, who relates the inside stories of the events pictured in many of the shoots and demonstrates an honest and touching relationship between band and photographer. Three essays by music journalists provide context to the band's story, and an introduction by Jill celebrates the supreme significance of Oasis in her 50+ years photographing musicians.

  • The Daily Mess How Can People Say What They Want Plus Facing The Weight Of The Present
I’m always asking questions.  The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as…   Why is it only a certain person or group of people get away with saying whatever they want any time they want?  Plus…why aren’t people buying into the idea that living in the present is your best ocean front property?   I’m Arroe…  I am a daily writer.  A silent wolf.  I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate.  I call it The Daily Mess.  A chronological walk through an everyday world.  Yes, it’s my morning writing.  As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later.  When a subject arrives, I dig in.  It’s still keeping a journal!  By doing the research the picture becomes clearer.  This is the Daily Mess…

  • Rumors Of My Demise Plus A New Album Of Music From The Lemonhead's Evan Dando
In RUMORS OF MY DEMISE: A Memoir (Gallery Books hardcover; October 7, 2025), Evan Dando sets the record straight on everything the media got wrong, divulges stories never-before-told, and shares a treasure trove of personal photos never-before-seen. The publication coincides with the October 24th release of Love Chant, the Lemonheads first original album in nearly two decades, with a U.S. tour beginning on November 11th. After Kurt Cobain's passing in 1994, everyone expected Evan Dando to be next. The Lemonheads front man, songwriter and actor started in the '80s hardcore scene and went on to become a '90s icon. Think of Evan Dando, and you think of heroin chic, grunge, and celebrity burnout. Perhaps known as much for his partying and boyish good looks, after two gold records and the kind of fame that you just can't enjoy anymore, the Lemonheads cooled off and life went on.Dando grew up in Boston, the son of a lawyer and a model, and attended the prestigious Commonwealth School. Fame was never what motivated him but the lure of the wild life proved trickier to refuse. From sneaking into concerts as a child, to sleeping on floors in the punk rock days, to crashing at Johnny Depp's place in Hollywood, he was right there in the thick of it. So much so, that social media once reported his death. Now, very much alive and enjoying a life in South America when he's not on the road, Evan Dando tells his own story. RUMORS OF MY DEMISE reminds readers what was so great about the pre-internet '90s: the innocence, the access, and the anonymity. Reclaiming the purity and exuberance of his early days and encapsulating the spirit of the era, this candid autobiography presents a portrait of an artist who lives wholly for his music, and one that makes no apologies for doing so.

  • Not Just A New Titanic Story But Texture In History From Author Alyson Richman Missing Pages
1912: Harry Widener, a promising and passionate book collector, boards the Titanic holding tight to a priceless volume he’s just purchased in London. After catastrophe strikes the ship, Harry’s last known words are that he must return to his cabin to retrieve his latest treasure. Neither the young man nor the book are ever seen again. Honoring her son’s memory, Harry’s mother builds the Harry Widener Memorial Library at Harvard to house his extensive book collection and ensure his legacy. Decades later, Violet Hutchins, a Harvard sophomore recovering from her own great loss, is working as a page at the Widener Library. When mysterious things begin happening at the library, Violet wonders if Harry Widener’s ghost is trying to communicate with her, seeking Violet to uncover a long-buried secret that the ardent young Harry took with him to the grave.
“The Missing Pages” reminds us that books are as eternal as the soul – and a book has the power to connect us to our loved ones, transcend time and distance and forge lasting bonds that defy even death.
