Arroe Collins: Unplugged & Totally Uncut

Pod Crashing episode 373 with Jenn Swan from the podcast My Friend Daisy. After 19-year-old Daisy De La O was murdered outside her Compton apartment, her friends and family looked to authorities to make an arrest. When that didn't happen, they took matters into their own hands. Their secret weapon? TikTok. The online videos spawned an international manhunt, rallying amateur detectives to do something radical: Help catch a killer. From London Audio, iHeart Radio, and executive producer Paris Hilton, My Friend Daisy is a ten-part investigative series written and hosted by L.A. journalist Jenn Swann. Each episode dives deep into the murder investigation and its fallout, exposing what went wrong, how it went viral, and why American communities are turning to social media to find justice. Episodes available here: Https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1248-my-friend-daisy-270223430/

Only six men can lay claim to wearing the famous Savile Row tuxedo of James Bond; more people have stepped on the moon. Yet, hundreds more came within an inch of winning the coveted 007 role-the pinnacle for so many actors. For the very first time, The Search for Bond tells the often-extraordinary story of how cinema's most famous secret agent was cast, featuring exclusive interviews with many of the actors who were at one time either considered to play Bond, interviewed for the role, or went as far as to be screen tested. Their memories and stories are fascinating and give an 'insiders' glimpse into the process of how the Bond producers, Broccoli and Saltzman, came up with the right man to play their famous spy.
With Daniel Craig having vacated the role, the circus surrounding the announcement of his successor has created a tabloid frenzy!

It was the election America dreaded, a rematch between the two oldest men to serve as president. But somewhere along the way, the 2024 battle for the White House became the most jaw-dropping, heart-pounding, head-turning contest in American history. The ride was so wild that it forced a sitting president to drop his re-election bid, a once and future president to survive felony convictions and a would-be assassin's bullet, and a vice president, unexpectedly thrust into the arena, to mount an unprecedented 107-day campaign to lead the free world. FIGHT is the backstage story of bloodsport politics in its rawest form-the clawing, backstabbing, and rabble-rousing that drove Donald Trump into the White House and Democrats into the wilderness. At every turn, the combatants went for the jugular, whether they were facing down rivals in the other party or their own. Bestselling authors Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes give readers their first graphic view of the characters, their motivations, and their innermost thoughts as they battled to claim the ultimate prize and define a political era. Based on real-time interviews with more than 150 insiders-from the Trump, Harris, and Biden inner circles, as well as party leaders and operatives- FIGHT delivers the vivid and stunning tale of an election unlike any other. In the end, Trump overcame voters' concerns about his personal flaws by tapping into a deep vein of dissatisfaction with the direction of the country. At the same time, Democrats struggled to connect with an electorate that felt gaslit by Biden's insistence that he had delivered economic prosperity-and his pledge to be a "bridge" president. He tore his party asunder, leaving destroyed personal relationships in his wake, as he clung to power. And when he gave it up, he kneecapped Harris by demanding unprecedented loyalty from her. As Allen and Parnes have done in the #1 New York Times bestseller Shattered and Lucky, they provide readers with a skeleton key to the rooms where it all happened, revealing a story more shocking than previously reported

Ari's destiny as a performer was evident from birth when a nurse heard her humming straight out of the womb. Her musical journey began at age 7 with voice lessons and performing arts camps, leading to her first major role as Glinda in "The Wiz" at age 9. Though she later faced challenges with anxiety and depression during high school, Ari found healing through music, therapy and her family's unwavering support. Now a recent graduate of the University of Southern California - celebrating alongside her mother, who completed her nursing degree the same week - Ari made a name for herself as a regular performer of the National Anthem at university basketball games. She continues to channel her experiences into songwriting, creating music that connects with others.

I’m always asking questions.  The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as…   Why are we constantly itching the palms of our hands?  Plus…Is American Idol still popular?                                         I’m Arroe…  I am a daily writer.  A silent wolf.  I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate.  I call it The Daily Mess.  A chronological walk through an everyday world.  Yes, it’s my morning writing.  As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later.  When a subject arrives, I dig in.  It’s still keeping a journal!  By doing the research the picture becomes clearer.  This is the Daily Mess…

Welcome back to the studio.  This is My Day of Play, where you’re taken into the real events and actions of how it happens long before the process of editing or cleaning up.  The original purpose of these episodes was to give my broadcasting students something to edit, to practice with and to call their own.  Then I realized that you are just as important.  Share the reality of how it really went.  We begin things with movie director Mike Young whose new action comedy is Stealing Jokes Then we’ll jump into an unedited conversation with author William Haldeman the creator of Meeting the Moment Inspiring Presidential Leadership that Transformed America.  And we’ll wrap things up with Punk Rocker singer songwriter Tarah from the band Tarah Who This is My Day of Play.  Completely unedited in the way of meeting the wizard behind the curtain.

Two-time GRAMMY winner Gloria Gaynor has released the new single "Fida Known", an empowered reflection on a past relationship that serves as a showcase for Gaynor's showstopping voice and effortless vocal charisma. Co-written by Gaynor in Nashville alongside GRAMMY-winning songwriters Chris Stevens and Michael Pollack (Miley Cyrus, Maroon 5), "Fida Known" is Gaynor's first new solo single since the release of 2019's GRAMMY-winning LP 'Testimony', and an emphatic declaration of the power of hindsight when overcoming adversity.
Over pulsing handclaps and synth keyboard stabs, Gaynor opens the track by acknowledging her infatuation with a past lover: "You were drivin' me crazy / The kind of crazy that made me see stars". Her declaration of love then gives way to a wiser Gaynor, who laments her shortsightedness in an instant-classic hook: "Fida known that you never / Woulda loved me forever / I'da found someone better / Who could hold me tight." The track is a return to her recognizable disco sound after the breathtaking rootsy gospel of 'Testimony,' and the production of Matt Bronleewe immerses Gaynor's voice in a funky mid-tempo groove that's tailor made for the dance floor or driving with the top down.
"Fida Known" is the first taste of Gaynor's 'Happy Tears' EP, an empowering groove-filled journey that sees her working with up-and-coming songwriters Sam Tinnesz (Kygo, Fitz and the Tantrums), Caitlyn Smith (Miley Cyrus, Meghan Trainor), and Liz Rose (Taylor Swift). The EP is a continuation of Gaynor's new chapter that began with 2019's 'Testimony' and was followed by a collaboration with Kylie Minogue ("Can't Stop Writing Songs About You") in 2022. "Happy Tears"
