Two teens are sent to Mexico for the summer to unplug in this hilarious and heartwarming dual narrative by award-winning author . Newly graduated 8th graders Celi and Elio don't know each other, but after a catfishing incident in their Oakland, California, community goes viral, both sets of parents discover their recent screen overuse. Independently, they have the “brilliant” idea to ship the kids off to the same rancho in Mexico for two months, thinking it will help them reconnect with themselves.  In the middle of nowhere—without internet, electricity, or even running water—the two meet and bond over their miserable fates: Celi is forced to spend her days helping in a healing clinic with her eccentric tías while Elio carts sticks and logs to rehabilitate a river. But day by day, amidst the stark beauty and cultural richness of rural Mexico, with crushes blooming, Celi and Elio each shed a little of their online selves and begin to understand what it means to embrace nature, connect to culture, and cultivate authenticity.  Stream is a standalone story featuring the main characters from Aida Salazar's award-winning verse novels Ultraviolet and The Moon Within. This fast-paced, quick read crackles with humor, wisdom, and relatable themes. The story speaks directly to teens and will make them feel seen.

I’m always asking questions.  The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as…   Why are students being called the last generation?  Where did it come from and is it doing more damage then good?  Plus…how many creative people are crediting the covid lockdown for their current success?   I’m Arroe…  I am a daily writer.  A silent wolf.  I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate.  I call it The Daily Mess.  A chronological walk through an everyday world.  Yes, it’s my morning writing.  As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later.  When a subject arrives, I dig in.  It’s still keeping a journal!  By doing the research the picture becomes clearer.  This is the Daily Mess…

My father endlessly shot this line out every chance he could get, "You don't know your ass from a hole in the ground." Where did it come from and why is something so blunt and shameful still being used?

The true story of the corrupt and violent town of Borger, Texas in 1927―and the legendary Texas Ranger tasked with taming it.Just a year after the town of Borger, Texas was founded, the press called it "the wickedest in the state" for good reason. The town, sprung into existence overnight to support the oilfields, was a second chance for many residents but had also become a lawless haven for bootleggers, pimps and gamblers, run by a crooked city hall. That environment attracts some of the most unsavory characters in prohibition America, including a gang of murderous bank robbers who head into Borger to spend their money on booze, gambling and prostitutes. In the span of weeks, the gang kills three law enforcement officers, bringing the worst heat imaginable: legendary Texas Ranger Captain Frank Hamer, years before he will lead the 1934 posse that tracked down and killed criminals Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. His arrival threatens to break even this hardest boomtown in America―if it doesn't kill him first. What follows is one of the most thrilling and violent untold stories from the era of gangsters, lawmen and vice. Author Joe Pappalardo brings to life a town previously lost in the haze of history.
