Arroe Collins: Unplugged & Totally Uncut

THE WONDERLAND MASSACRE & THE SECRET HISTORY OF HOLLYWOOD is based on the Audible podcast of the same name by writer Michael Connelly (Bosch, The Lincoln Lawyer). This series dives further into Connelly's investigation of the July 1, 1981 Wonderland massacre, one of Hollywood's most famous murder cases that has fascinated people for more than 40 years. This series builds upon the podcast's archival footage of the events and interviews with Scott Thorson, the only surviving* witness on the murder night and the once boyfriend of Liberace and adds additional testimonies and interviews from detectives and prosecutors involved with the case. It is the first and only time that Scott has told his full story on screen (*Note: Thorson has since unexpectedly passed a few weeks ago, making this story more timely than ever). This gritty and fast paced series is directed and produced by Alison Ellwood (San Francisco Sounds, Laurel Canyon) and executive produced by Nick Gilhool and Jen Casey of One Traveler Productions. As one of the pivotal eras of the Los Angeles sex, drugs and rock n' roll scene, the series' events have often been referenced throughout pop culture, most famously by Paul Thomas Anderson's Boogie Nights. The four-part series has its finale next Sunday, September 8th on MGM+. Here's the trailer: Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jShJHQFt4GA

Edith Lemay and Sébastien Pelletier first noticed their daughter, Mia, was having vision problems when she was 3 years old. The diagnosis took years to pinpoint but, by the time Mia was 7, they had identified it as retinitis pigmentosa, a rare genetic condition that causes a loss or decline in vision over time. It skipped their second child, Léo, but both their younger sons, Colin and Laurent, received the same diagnosis. The three children will ultimately lose their eyesight entirely. When The school’s vision impairment advisor suggested they fill the children’s visual memory by looking at pictures in books, Edith thought, ‘I’m not going to show her an elephant in a book; I’m going to take her to see a real elephant…And I’m going to fill her memory with the best, most beautiful images I can.”

That’s the subject of the beautiful new documentary film BLINK arriving in theaters October 4. As the Canadian-based family began making plans to spend a year traveling around the globe, they canvassed the children’s opinions on what they wanted to do – which included swimming with dolphins, horseback riding in Mongolia and watching the sunrise from a mountain -- the bucket list became the family’s North Star.

As a former resort activity coordinator, Edith Lemay has no shortage of ideas to entertain her little troupe. She is passionate about sunsets and water sports, particularly scuba diving. During the trip, Edith was responsible for the luggage, schooling, meals, and social media. She is rarely seen in photos because she is always behind the camera and will publish a forthcoming book in French about their adventure.

Edmund Stenson’s work as director, producer and editor spans both documentary and fiction and focuses on social issues, loners and nomads. Before directing BLINK, he was an associate editor on the BAFTA- and Oscar®-winner Navalny, a documentary-thriller about the Russian dissident’s poisoning.
