Arroe Collins: Unplugged & Totally Uncut

I’m always asking questions.  The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as…   How proper are snot rockets?  You know, that moment of blasting a huge chunk of something from your nose onto the surface of the earth or whatever gets in the way.  A snot rocket!  Plus…who is this odd-looking man on social media that calls himself Zues?  What’s his schtick?    I’m Arroe…  I am a daily writer.  A silent wolf.  I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate.  I call it The Daily Mess.  A chronological walk through an everyday world.  Yes, it’s my morning writing.  As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later.  When a subject arrives, I dig in.  It’s still keeping a journal!  By doing the research the picture becomes clearer.  This is the Daily Mess…

Bay Area hard rockers Corvus Lore return with a striking new visual for their latest single, “Promise You”—a slow-burning power ballad that showcases the band’s ability to balance raw emotion with arena-sized ambition.Over the past decade, Corvus Lore have built their reputation sharing bills with heavyweights like Tesla, Richie Kotzen, and Dizzy Reed. The four-piece has honed a sound rooted in classic hard rock grit, elevated by melodic instincts and a modern sense of scale.“Promise You” may be their most emotionally resonant statement yet. The track opens in near silence—just acoustic guitar and exposed, vulnerable vocals—before gradually unfolding into a full-bodied arrangement driven by pounding drums and layered electric guitars. By the time it hits its chorus, the song transforms into something cinematic: soaring, urgent, and undeniably anthemic. The newly released video mirrors that dynamic arc. It leans into the song’s intimacy early on, drawing viewers into a personal, almost confessional space before expanding outward in scope and intensity. As the instrumentation swells, so does the visual narrative, reinforcing the song’s central theme—commitment that endures, no matter the odds.Lyrically, “Promise You” trades in vivid, elemental imagery while keeping its message grounded and relatable. Lines like “When the oceans dry, I will be the tide” strike a balance between poetic ambition and emotional clarity, underscoring a devotion that feels both deeply personal and universally understood.

There’s something powerful about conversations that dig into what happens after a dream falls apart. Billy West is one the most accomplished and beloved voice actors alive today. He's brought to life original animated characters like Stimpy from Ren & Stimpy, Doug Funnie, and Philip J. Fry, Dr. Zoidberg, Zapp Brannigan, and Professor Farnsworth (and more) on Futurama. And he's played iconic characters like Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd in Space Jam, Popeye, and Woody Woodpecker.Chances are, he's made you laugh many times. You might even know some of his lines by heart.In Voice-A-Versa, West recounts his remarkable life in show business and the circuitous route that got him there, from a radio-call in contest that led to skits on morning radio in Boston, to a one-off appearance on The Howard Stern Show that turned into a regular role, to a big move to Hollywood, and legendary roles working with other talented creators. But West's life story is deeper and darker than that, and this memoir reveals the traumatic upbringing that scarred and shaped him, and which gave birth to the "Billy-verse" of voices."Billy West is the kind of genius you have to write about in the plural. He's not just a brilliant actor, he's a hundred brilliant actors. And this hilarious book will give you the lowdown on Billy's wild lives and unforgettable voices, and how those fevered brains of his crack us all up." -MATT GROENING, The Simpsons
