Arroe Collins: Unplugged & Totally Uncut

-Missed Opportunity- I love sharing conversations.  Hosting requires show prep.  My podcasting platforms feature thousands of guests.  What you don’t have access to are the missed opportunities. The show prep was completed.  The conversation didn’t happen.  I keep all my notes! Paths will cross again.  Let me explain Missed Opportunity.  It’s my questions and statements without their answers.  I’m leaving open enough space at the end of each question hoping they’ll download the talk and insert their answers.Missed Opportunity is a lost piece of history.  Like a message in a bottle tossed out to sea. I hope to locate a destination…
This week we’re putting focus on my missed opportunity with film makers Justin Len Missed Opportunity.  A lost piece of history.  You know the questions.  Let’s locate the reactions.  The door is always open.  If you are or know Justin Len please reach out to me at [email protected] that’s [email protected] Be brilliant!

Cynthia Schumacher is well into her 90’s and is still writing and publishing books at a solid pace. After retiring as a teacher of 33 years, and then serving as an education advocate, she took to penning three children’s books and seven collections of stirring poetry. Now, at age 97, she has released her first book of short stories, Prose Pizza.“I try to shed light on the hidden, amazing layers that exist under ordinary people’s public lives,” says Schumacher. “These slices of life vary in tone and style, but come together as a coherent, nourishing whole.”
Prose Pizza is a collection of nine short stories, exploring themes like hidden desires, identity, and social expectations through ordinary lives, with a style described as charming and insightful. The book uses the metaphor of pizza to represent the many "slices" or perspectives on life, marriage, and individual behavior, offering readers a variety of short, thoughtful pieces. Story themes include: private desires, social expectations, aging, identity, marriage, and the extraordinary within the ordinary. These stories, originally written 60 years ago, represent the slices of life.

I’m always asking questions.  The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as…   What is this thing called post production blues?  Is it the real deal?  Plus…why do people write the number two in a sentence then later on type in t w o?  Hmmm   I’m Arroe…  I am a daily writer.  A silent wolf.  I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate.  I call it The Daily Mess.  A chronological walk through an everyday world.  Yes, it’s my morning writing.  As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later.  When a subject arrives, I dig in.  It’s still keeping a journal!  By doing the research the picture becomes clearer.  This is the Daily Mess…

Pod Crashing episode 473 with Clayton Echard and Stephani Young from the podcast Love Trapped. Former Bachelor Clayton Echard's casual one-night fling turned into a paternity nightmare. When the news broke about the scandal, no one believed Clayton at first. He was a reality TV star, and an unpopular one at that. Clayton found himself trying to prove the truth, while trapped in a web of lies, manipulation, and threats. He would soon discover he was not the only one. At its core, this is a story about who you believe and why. It's an epic battle that would take a group of strangers, citizen sleuths from across the world, to crack the case and finally hold someone accountable

Critics have compared him to Henry James (Lucasta Miller, The Guardian), T. S. Eliot (Robert Douglas-Fairhurst, author of Becoming Dickens), E.M. Forster (Edmund White), and F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Daily Mail). Yet James Cahill is an author firmly anchored in the 21st-century world of complicated sexual dynamics, power plays, artifice, and art.
In his highly anticipated second novel, The Violet Hour (Pegasus Books; March 3, 2026), James Cahill unravels an intricate story about love, loss, lies, money, and art. At its center is Thomas Haller, a celebrated abstract painter, the heir to Rothko, whose luminous and increasingly turbulent works inspire reverence from some, provoke eye-rolling disdain from others, and spur bidding wars starting with figures in the multi millions. As we gradually learn, Thomas is not the genius many believe him to be—and he’s hiding more than his questionable creative process.
After a six-year vanishing act, Haller is returning with an exhibition of paintings in a color unlike any his avid collectors have ever seen—a soft purple, pulsing and incandescent, with a touch of silver. The show comes as a surprise to not only those obsessed with his work—including ultra-rich New York real estate mogul Leo Goffman—but also to Lorna Bedford, the gallery owner who has represented Thomas for decades, starting with his luminous Pink Paintings. Instead, Haller is making his comeback in London, at the newest gallery owned by a ruthless global dealer, Claude Berlins. At Goffman’s urging—and for personal reasons—Lorna decides to fly out for the opening. Beyond their long-term business relationship, Thomas is one of Lorna’s oldest and dearest friends, despite their complex, painful history. The excitement for Haller’s new exhibit is shadowed by a tragedy. The night before the show, one of Galerie Claude Berlin's associate directors, a young man named Luca Holden, fell to his death from his apartment window. What seems on the surface like an unfortunate accident—or perhaps, suicide—opens up a chapter in Lorna’s past that she has tried to forget. And Lorna is far from the only one in the art world affected by this shattering event.
