In this episode Caroline and Nicola discuss Justice Tony Hunt’s charge to the Jury before he sent them out to begin deliberating their verdict at 15.34 today. In a five hour address to the nine man, three women panel, he broke down the evidence into five parts, confession, DNA, eye witnesses, lies and inferences. As part of this, he read a transcript of Jenna Stack’s evidence recounting how she saw Puska crouched over Ashling in a ditch by the Grand Canal. He also read parts of Jozef Puska’s testimony when he said he too had been attacked and he was trying to save Ashling.
Follow the evidence as the jury hears it, in twice-weekly reports from broadcaster and journalist Caroline Cheetham, along with news reporter Nicola Byrne.
They’ll take you into the courtroom, bringing you the detail as the evidence unfolds, examining key moments and carrying out exclusive interviews with detectives, victims, and experts.
