In this second episode of The Trial, Ashling Murphy, Caroline and Nicola discuss the testimony of Jenna Stack who came across Jozef Puska and Ashling Murphy in the ditch at Grand Canal way, Tullamore minutes before she died. They also recap a harrowing week for the Murphy family which included hearing post mortem evidence that Ashling’s voice box was cut during an attack which saw her receive 11 stab wounds which ultimately caused her death.
The jury also heard evidence this week from garda Tom Dunne who took the 999 call at Tullamore Garda station and was the first first policeman at the scene - he and his colleague performed CPR on Ashling for at least ten minutes but to no avail.
Follow the evidence as the jury hears it, in twice-weekly reports from broadcaster and journalist Caroline Cheetham, along with news reporter Nicola Byrne.
They’ll take you into the courtroom, bringing you the detail as the evidence unfolds, examining key moments and carrying out exclusive interviews with detectives, victims, and experts.
