कश्चन देवं दर्शयतु इति गुरुम् अपृच्छत् । गुरुः अवदत्- “भवान् स्वस्य एव प्रमुखम् अङ्गं मुखं द्रष्टुं दर्पणं यथा अपेक्षते तथैव देवस्य दर्शनार्थम् ईश्वरकृपा आवश्यकी इति ।
Guru tells disciple, "You can't see your own face without a mirror, similarly, God's presence is within, but divine grace is needed to realize and see the God."
माया नाम का इति सुदामदेवः श्रीकृष्णं अपृच्छत् । कृष्णस्य सूचनानुगुणं नद्यां स्नातवान् सुदामा एवं दृष्टवान् यत् सः हठात् राजा भूत्वा काञ्चित् ऊढवान् । पत्न्यां मृतायां सत्यां तेन अपि चिताप्रवेशः करणीयः इति स्थितिः आपतिता । तदा सः नद्यां गत्वा कृष्णं प्रार्थितवान् । सर्वं कृष्णस्य माया इति सः अवगतावान् ।
Once Sudamadeva asked Krishna what is Maya? As per Krishnas order Sudama took a bath in river and saw his accidental kingship leads to marriage, but after wife's death, ministers cite ritual requiring self-sacrifice. Praying to Krishna in the river, Sudama realizes it's Krishna's divine play.
राजा यस्य अधिकम् ऋणम् अस्ति, तम् “अधिकारिणं व्यये भवतः नियन्त्रणं नास्ति” इत्युक्त्वा कार्यात् च्यावितवान् । परन्तु अग्रिमदिने दूतहस्तेन धनं प्रेषयित्वा “आश्रितस्य रक्षणं मम कर्तव्यम् । भवान् यथापूर्वं कार्यालयम् आगच्छतु” इति उक्तवान् ।

काचित् वृद्धा सचक्रासन्दे उद्याने अटन्ती आसीत् । अपरिचितः जार्जः लोहचक्रासनदेन अग्रे गन्तुं कष्टम् अनुभवन्तीं तां दृष्ट्वा आसन्दानां चक्रयोः रबर् योजयति । अग्रे सः एव प्रसिद्धः डनलप् चक्रसंस्थानिर्माणकर्ता भवति ।

ईश्वरचन्द्रविद्यासागरः कस्याश्चित् निर्धनायाः विधवायाः कृते “भवत्याः पत्युः सकाशात् मया ऋणं स्वीकृतम्, तत् प्रत्यर्पयन् अस्मि” इति वदन् प्रतिमासं धनं यच्छति स्म । सा विधवा यदा सः ईश्वरचन्द्रविद्यासगरः, साहाय्यार्थमेव धनं प्रेषयति, इति ज्ञातवती तदा विस्मिता हर्षिता च अभवत् ।
Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar pretended to repay a loan to a widow, donating money monthly. When she discovered his kindness, she was overwhelmed with gratitude and amazement at his selfless deception.
कुम्भकर्णः जिह्वास्खलनकारणतः निद्रावत्त्वं वररूपेण प्राप्य चिरं निद्राति स्म । रावणः पुनरपि ब्रह्मदेवम् उपसृत्य कुम्भकर्णस्य अर्धवर्षं यावत् निद्रा इति वरं परिवर्तितवान् ।
Kumbhakarna's tongue slipped, while seeking boon, led to eternal sleep. Ravana intervened, praying Brahma to modify it to six month’s sleep and six months' wakefulness of Kumbhakarna.
यदा कश्चन धनिकः अक्षरधाम गतवान् तदा तेन सह कोऽपि गौरवेण न सम्भाषते इति खिन्नः । तत्रत्यः कश्चन स्वामी तम् उक्तवान्, यदा राष्ट्रपतये भवान् उपायनं ददाति तदा सः भवन्तं स्मरेत् इति अपेक्षा भवति वा? न खलु? तथैव देवमन्दिरे स्थानमानादयः न भवन्ति इति ।
A devotee felt neglected at Akshardham Temple. A swami consoled, "Just as the President receives many bouquets, yet can't acknowledge each giver, God's presence is beyond individual recognition."
कश्चित् कृषकः पङ्के निमग्नम् आढ्यं बालं रक्षितवान् । तत्प्रतीकाररूपेण आढ्यस्य पिता कृषकस्य पुत्रस्य विद्याभ्यासं कारितवान् । सः एव कृषकस्य पुत्रः अग्रे पेन्सिलिन् इत्यस्य औषधस्य आविष्कारम् अकरोत् येन धनिकस्य पुत्रः मृत्योः रक्षितः ।
A poor farmer rescues a rich boy from mud. In gratitude, the boy's father educates the farmer's son, who becomes a scientist and discovers penicillin, transforming lives forever. His invention Penicillin only saved the life of rich boy.
कश्चित् गुरुः शिष्यत्रयं परीक्षितुं घृतघटं नीत्वा विपण्यां स्थापयित्वा सायम् आनयन्तु इति आदिष्टवान् । घृतघटः निर्बाधः स्यात् इति अवदत् च । द्वौ शिष्यौ तथा कर्तुं विफलौ । तृतीयः विपण्यां क्षणमेकं घटं स्थापयित्वा ततः गृहे घटं रक्षयित्वा सायङ्काले आनीय गुरोः परीक्षायाम् उत्तीर्णः ।
Guru tasks three disciples to keep a ghee-filled pot in the market and return it intact. Two failed, but the intelligent third keeps it briefly in market, then safely at home, and returns it unchanged. It lead in qualifying the test.
