She says the defendant brought it back in terrible condition, so she’s suing for the cost of the van and emotional distress. The defendant claims the plaintiff is suing for more than what she owes.

Plus, The plaintiff says she sees the defendant like a brother because her mother raised him. The plaintiff let the defendant move in with her while he was looking for a place to live, but he didn’t pay rent, so she’s suing. The defendant argues he never agreed to pay the plaintiff rent.
