Barbara Schett is a world-class Austrian athlete. With a world ranking position of 7th in the singles she is the best placed Austrian tennis player to date. Her debut on the WTA tour celebrated Barbara in 1990 at the age of 14 years and 6 months at the WTA tournament in Kitzbühel. In her career, she reached the final of 6 WTA tournaments, of which she won three. In doubles, she was in the final of 19 tournaments, of which she could win 10.

Barbara's biggest single successes include quarter-finals at the 1999 US Open, the 1999 WTA Tour Championships at New York's Madison Square Garden, the Grand Slam Cup and the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She also appeared in the knockout stages of the Australian Open (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000), the French Open (2000, 2001), Wimbledon (1999) and the US Open (2001). In doubles, she twice reached the semifinals of the US Open (1999, 2004) and once that of the Australian Open (2000). In 2001, she stood alongside her husband, Joshua Eagle, in the final of the mixed doubles Australian Open competition.
