Fr Dan and Kerrin continue their conversation about the Twelve Promises of the Sacred Heart of Jesus devotion on this first Friday in November. The eleventh promise given by Jesus Christ to St. Margaret Mary Alocoque is “Those who propagate this devotion shall have their name written in My Heart, and it shall never be effaced.” Father Dan reviews the practice of making the First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as well as plenary indulgences during the Holy Souls octave this week through November 8th.  Included also today – St Pope John Paul II’s sublime reflection on the 11th promise: “I wish to express my approval and encouragement to all who, in any way, continue to foster, study and promote devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the church with language and forms adapted to our times, so that it may be transmitted to future generations in the spirit which has always animated it and animated the church.” And Father Dan’s own take on the New York City marathon is also discussed!
